Not even close. 1000 points at Borgata would be the equivalent of earning $1,000 comp dollars a Harrahs... IF you're just playing poker, that would roughly be the equivalent of 30,000 tier points at Harrahs (by my calculations).

Based on one hour of $1/$2 nl at harrahs gets you 30 tier points. one hour of $1/$2nl at Borgata gets you one point.

edit - how many tier points do you need at harrahs?

Would a HET Platinum Card be enough of a "premium" card to get an upgrade to Black at Borgata? If so I could hit that one in couple of weeks when I go back to AC.

no, it's 5% for the PCG, though some dealers still rake 10% since they're used to it

You can't use platinum to trade up...you need Diamond, which is 11000 points.

No, you need 11000 tier points to get diamond. 4000 just gets you platinum, which is not enough to trade up to black.

One warning about PC O8. The podium will essentially not acknowledge that the game even exists anymore, so you can't put yourself on the List of Interest. You'll probably need to have 6 people ready, go to the back podium and request it directly.

And to whoever's even imagining a PC game that includes stud... not sure what to say. Except that I hope you bring some of whatever you're smoking down to the poker room this weekend. (Maybe I exaggerate the chance of that not ever getting off, but I don't think so)

Also it is very important to remind the PCG dealers not to drop one for the BBJP unless the pot has $100 in it. That is a huge rule and most of the dealers in my experience do not know about it.

I was playing PLO the other day and they came around to collect the BBJP and there were $3 in the box! In PLO! So obviously dealers took $1 without even thinking three times and no one noticed.

I'd like to know this as well! Thinking of coming down tomorrow for this.

You only have to play $1000 for a black card? That seems ridiculously low since I could play that in an hour of $25/hand blackjack?

Unless you mean $5000-$10000 worth of comp dollars? I don't know what that would work out to in real money gambled.

Yes!

To jjshabado: Earn $1,000 in comps within one year of the anniversary date of when you first got your player comp card.

And again to earn it, pick your poison:

A. Stock up on your bankroll and endure and play many, many hours of poker throughout the year, depending on the hourly rate based on game of your choice.
(From what I know: $1-2 NLHE = $1 comp/hr, $2-5 NLHE = $2 comp/hr. How about other poker variants or higher limit games?)

or

B. Throwing away many tens of thousands of dollars at slots, video poker, blackjack, baccarat, roulette, etc.

I just turned Black Label at the start of this year after about five months of enjoyable play, usually during my work vacation time, overnight stays thanks to comp rooms or with friends, etc. :-)

So was there a consensus on a possible pink chip game for tomorrow?

I'm probably just going to show up between 1 and 2....

If it's H I'll pass, If it's HOSE I'll pass. If it's HO I'm in....if it's HOE I'm begrudgingly in. haha.

I think we should be able to get a game. Not sure which but believe it will either be HOE or HOSE - 8 hand rotate.

Thanks....this was back in late October 2009 in one of my all-day marathons.

Read the story, where I won what you see on my avatar:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/54...-raise-609162/

I played against who looked to be like a Borgata regular. A middle-aged LAG lady (at seat 6 on this story) who carries her mini-rosary, annoying some people with her sick reads aloud. I didn't like her at first...but she was teasing me at some point. But a great lady, who lived through recent surgeries.

Hahaha...they can ship THAT! Other than that, I had a fun time with that story.

Over on that forum, I didn't care since I knew what I was getting into and saw that there are mainly crazies, except for some handful of posters who care on reading and commenting on a brag or beat!
