I think I'm going to get one circuit around the poker room w/ the young lady and an occasional hand sweat. Lucky me! Plus, I can coach her at BJ but I'll be suffering from 'the bends' the entire time.
Please be bringing your safe out of retirement.

What is the chance that they have a maintenance department with a drill?

I occasionally stop at the blackjack tables to watch a hand or two. Still get the 'twitch', .

At Nashville airport. Departure in less than an hour. Should be at CAZ around 2ish. Likely find me in the 20 game unless the 40 has a soft line-up or I wanna shoot the **** with HB in the 8. I'll wear my WVU cap.

Have fun.

Action was super juicy in the 3-300 game last night. Ran 200->1100 in less than an hour when I couldn't miss a hand and always got paid off.

Last night was a fun night for everyone.

We played 75-150 Mix with Badugi/Badacey/Baducey/Any Any/2-7/O8 with holdem every third round.

There were also a couple of good 20s going.

Also two very good players started a 40 headsup that was fascinating to rail, and turned into a great 3 handed game by midnight.

The room was very busy, not many free tables, lots of fun gambooling going on.

I left when the 8-16 broke around 3 last night and was considering taking a shot at the 20-40 but it had broken by then. I noticed that the 40-80 game was going as well as the big mix game. Maybe I'll get there someday. :P

There was a 20 game, an off the hook 60 game and either a 100 or 150 mix going today from Noon to 5ish.

Are they still having the deep stack bounty tournaments this year? They're not listed on the CAZ website for 2011, but the deep stack $300 buy in is. Hopefully this is just an over site, I really enjoy those tournaments.

I gotta vent about this situation at CAZ yesterday during the jack and jill tournament... 5+ people yelling at me telling me I'm wrong including the dealer and the tournament director/floor woman.

Action:
Blinds: 50/100
utg limps 100

utg+2 says "raise" puts out 600 (1 black 100, 1 purple 500)

utg+3 says "raise" puts out 1000 (2 purple 500 chips)

next guys folds

gets to me... I say "he has to make it 1100"

Dealer says "no, the raise is 500 so he can make it 1000".

After 30-60 seconds of me explaining that 1 + 5 + 5 = 11... and 3 other guys at the table agreeing with the dealer, I say call the floor. (1 guy at the table backed me up)

Floor woman / TD comes over and instantly agrees with the dealer. I'm flabbergasted and by this point just in shock at the absurdity of the situation. I walked away from the table and loudly said "these guys can't even do basic math!" in a loud exasperated tone. By now 4-5 minutes in the 20 minute level has passed. Floor tells me to stop yelling and I do, and she starts actually using her brain to think this extremely complex situation out. Eventually she says 1100 is the raise and quickly leaves the table. Multiple players at the table are still confused.

I had 2 situations yesterday in the 2/3 NL game where the dealers made mistakes. They also commonly make stupid mistakes preflop.

Common mistake many players and dealers make: Few limpers ($3), someone makes it $11. Someone tries to make it $20. Everyone cries uncle saying they need to make it $22. No, the first raise was $8, the next was $9, perfectly legal. This is espexially frustrating when I am the one and make it like $16 to try to steal the blinds, someone makes it $30, and everyone cries it is $32, and I have a ****** hand so I would really like to save that $2 so I have to argue my point.

Mistakes from yesterday:
Player A w/ $25 total limps, next player makes it $18, player in SB calls, Player A goes all in for $25, player who made it $18 calls, and now SB wants to raise like 40 more. I cry foul, everyone looks like I am crazy, I give up and don't argue since I am not in the hand.

One dealer was trying to give a player $3 change in the SB when a player raised to $15, a few called, and the SB who had $1 out there (plus $1 dropped for jackpot), took his $1 back, and put in $15. So I stop him and say no, he only gets $1 back, and the dealer looks at me like I am crazy. Pretty sure he was fairly new.

The 2/3 NL game is like free money. Wish I enjoyed playing it because it is so variance free compared to limit. But there are also so many rules violations because of the fact that people can choose the amount to bet. And yesterday a dealer told me twice I had to take my extra $100 green chips off the table because I sat down with my $400 buy-in (max is $300) to a brand new game, went and grabbed a coffee and a water, and before I even got into my chair, he told me twice the max is $300 and even threw the placard in front of me. No ****, I put the greens into my pocket the instant I can get my butt in my seat so I can top off quickly, which I do very blatantly when not in a hand. The game hasn't even started yet, settle down.

That leads me to a question I have. We were starting a new game, but a player from another table had about $340 on him, is he allowed to bring it when transferring tables if he is moving to a new game? I just let it go, but I don't know the correct answer.

You shouldn't spend more than 15 seconds trying to correct a 100 chip error in a 1000 chip bet, probably never should have called the floor, and when you did and the floor ruled should have said nothing more.

Of course you are right, but what does it matter? You did the right thing, they didn't want to listen, so don't continue to waste your time, the tables time, and get yourself angered up to correct a minor dealer error.

Save your energy for significant errors and problems, and keep the table gambling through the insignificant errors.

I think the dealers and players who have dealt/played with you before tend to assume you are already drunk and respond accordingly.

Players are not allowed to table change to a brand new game from an existing game of the same limit( obviously the same type of game as well).
The rule at CAZ is that all chips transfer when doing tables changes between existing games, the "new game" rule prevents a player from entering a new game with a stack advantage. It also prevents a player from cashing in a portion of a their current stack and coming in for the minimum-max for the limit.

Players may not do a table change without the minimum buy-in at the new table either, i have seen this happen ( or the attempt made) fairly often as of late.

The graveyard floor was the one letting it happen when the game was starting yesterday...again, not a big deal, but it is an area where an angle can be shot in any direction as you mentioned.

I totally agree.. it wasn't worth the time, especially in a turbo tourney. I wasn't really angry about it.. more so completely astonished at the incompetence of the dealer and floor. When I originally pointed out the minor mistake while folding I didn't expect multiple players and the dealer to tell me "you're wrong". At that point, it was just the principle of the situation. I couldn't sit there and be told by multiple people I'm wrong about something I'm 1000% sure of. After the floor ruled, not much else was said.. I was completely calm at that point and for the rest of the tourney.

Also, I might be reading too much into it.. but I'm 29, and I look 21... everyone else at the table was 35+ easily. It's possible there was some age bias going on.

-------

Later in the tournament the board read 8-8-8-8-A and one guy goes all in and two players folded.

And this is why people need to STFU when a board has the nuts on it and people not in the hand start saying "chop it up"

exactly. The dealer actually whispered something vague when this happened and caused more uproar. I can't remember specifically what it was, but the implication was obvious. One guy complained to no avail.
