So the hottie friend is not attending, but your having your hottie duaghter hang out with Howard?

(I am feverish and my reading comprehension is sucking today....)

Howard, if possible keep me in the loop and I may try to drop by the casino during some part of this.

It would be nice to say hi in person again. Give it your best shot, please, and I'll be glad to send pm's as things develop.

How do y'all do stud games live? I'm used to playing online where its a simple matter to scan the whole table to see what everyone's upcards are... but live, if I'm in the 2 seat how can I possibly see the the 8 seat's cards? I am so used to holdem where you have no opponent up cards to keep track of... is there a lot of standing up to look around the table at stud? I don't wanna be that goofball who wears glasses and still can't see wat's going on and slows the game down...
P.S. Are they 6-handed tables? That would help a lot, again I'm used to full ring holdem.

I'm prob gonna get myself in trouble again (what else is new?) But let me see if I can do this somehow without breaking a stupid forum rule about using names...

Do you know the Tournament Director who wears the nice suits and has whitish hair? I noticed that he looks an awful lot like the coach of the Atlanta Falcons, and of course they do have the same last name... are they brothers perhaps? Just been wondering, if I cash in the tourney tonite I'll ask him myself.

A lot of people have good enough eyesight or glasses to be able to see the cards on the other side of the table. Others just don't bother trying to look at them unless they are in a hand with that person in which case, yes, standing up might occur.

The 3/6 Stud game almost never goes anymore that I've seen. A couple years ago it went on a daily basis but I've only seen it maybe once in the last year. The last couple months I've been playing mostly at Gila River though so maybe it's had a rebirth.

The 6/12 holdem game also hardly ever seems to go.

Too bad I left AZ in Oct.

So I'm assuming this coach has to have some pull, some influence, and can get them to use a single deck and deal right down to the last card before reshuffling? That's the best kind of coach there is! The counting part isn't difficult.

I'll admit that would be the perfect coach. However, if my daughter just learned the basics (e.g., when to stand pat, when to hit, double down, split, etc.), I'd consider the coaching a smashing success.

I realize I'm imposing on Howard, but what are friends for if you can't take advantage of them? Besides, I'll be reciprocating because the wife intends to hang out at the slots with Howard's Mom.

I, for one, would be pleased to make your acquaintance and would consider it a privilege to do so. Perhaps you could even find the time to join us for a drink or three.

One of those five dollar plastic cards would do the trick, and most places let you use them at the table.

Not that I want to wreck anyone's chances of "coaching"...

I stand up all the time to see cards, its not a big deal and is more or less expected to happen on a regular basis.

Print it out and take it with you to the table. They don't mind.

I would recommend having her sit in last position so the other players don't have to wait for her to read the card. That is what I do.

It also gives you more time to count cards.

That's the WORST position to have her sit in. It's considered the "anchor" position and often decides for the entire table whether or not the dealer will bust. I don't recommend that seat unless she doesn't mind being screamed at by other players at the table.

No one has ever screamed at me for doing what the chart says.
