So even if my roi is 50%, with an average time spent playing of 3 hours, I'm making $23/hr minus gas expenses. oh, and they send tax forms if u win, just got mine today.
I think they have the 300+30 nrxt sat...

iirc, tue and wed night used to be 200+30, which wasnt so bad rake wise.

yeah the 300+30 isn't so bad, but keep in mind it's really a 300+40 because you have to take the dealer addon. And the structure is at least reasonable (and includes antes) compared to their other tourneys. starts at 10am on saturday though... ugh

The juice for their tournaments is really high overall, and in some cases criminal.

$115+15+10 nightly tourneys 21.7% rake

http://www.casinoarizonapoker.com/index.php?topic=287.0
$125+25+10 last saturday of the month - 28% rake - faster structure than nightly but more rake!?!

http://www.casinoarizonapoker.com/index.php?topic=285.0
$300+30+10 big stack - 13% rake ok that's nice.

http://www.casinoarizonapoker.com/index.php?topic=284.0
$200+25+10 Super Bounty Turbo - 17.5% rake not bad but super fast structure (15 min levels lol 5-10 hands per level come on)

http://www.casinoarizonapoker.com/index.php?topic=307.0
$120+30+10 Omaha hi/lo 33.3% rake! wtf?! 4 cards = extra rake because dealing 4 cards is hard.

http://www.casinoarizonapoker.com/index.php?topic=286.0
$60+15+10 Ladies tournament 41.6% rake!?! (sheet is wrong, addon is $10)

http://www.casinoarizonapoker.com/index.php?topic=289.0
$50+15+10 Jack and Jill 50% rake!!!!!!! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU (addon is $10, not $5)

Not really. I mean, yeah its high, but its pretty industry typical, and comparable to similar BI dailies in vegas. This is why no one serious plays smaller live mtts for anything but amusement.

The FM tournaments used to be even worse, iirc, it was a $40BI and 30 of it went to rake (but the rebuys were unraked)

I played the one in Dec... The structure is so-so. tbh, I have a problem with a tournament being advertised as a "deepstack" tournament when the blinds double every 30 min round... but maybe im just spoiled from the venetian.

According to a discussion in one of the comment sections on the CAZ facebook page:

"Casino Arizona Hi Elaine! I just spoke with Ode and have great news! We are set to launch the poker system which will reward you guys for your play on February 9th!!
Yesterday at 2:41pm · " https://www.facebook.com/casinoaz

Hopefully they'll take out some of the dumb promos and just give decent comps. Progressive jackpots and monte carlo hands are dumb and a waste of the promo money. BBJ isn't great but is std and brings in the fish.

Are they back to dropping 4 + 2?

Did they ever give a second comp to the players after that $55 a few months ago?

Why do I have a sudden feeling that they will keep the rake high, drop the promos, add comps?

Hi all. Some quick questions about Casino Arizona poker.

Does this casino have a hotel attached? If so, what is the room rate for poker players? If not, which hotels nearby are recommended?

What is the food/restaurant situation at the casino? Do you need a car to get to good food?

Finally, how much is a cab from the airport?

Thanks.

I know, I could probably find these answers by doing a better search. But I did a quick search and couldnt find them.

Thanks for any help.

Yes there is a resort hotel attached. I believe the poker rate is $119/night. Hotel/casino has food there of course, and you could walk about 3/4 mile to a big shopping area with your normal fast food and dinner type places. Outside of that, you need a car to get anywhere.

No idea on cab fare but if I had to guess I'd say $25? (I've taken maybe 20 cab rides in my life so I really have no idea)

There is also a big CAZ thread here you can check for more info.

Looking at those I realized how easy it would be to cheat the system and punch them yourself at home with an exacto knife. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the degens did this.

The device they use must surely be for sale at a place like Staples. IDK if very many ppl were actually cheating though. I'm hoping that they're doing this bec the comp system will be an acceptable replacement since each punch was worth up to $1.20.

I was too lazy to ever get a punch card. I probably cost myself 3-5 free meals.

They had a big scandal with the punch cards. From what I was told, one of the servers and players were working together to punch and then sell tons of them. That's why they stopped letting servers give them out recently, and you had to get them from the floor.

Leaving minimum wage workers in charge of them, who could have possibly foreseen that going wrong?

For a bit I was getting two punches per order. I had hoped the waitress liked me, but then the waiter guy did it too.

There are a bunch of threads out there on this location but most of them appear to be outdated. Does anybody know what games they are spreading there now and any comments on the room overall?

How far is this from PHX airport?

Ok - There seems to be some contradiction in this thread - Does this casino have NL or spread limit? What limits do they run on a regular basis?

In Arizona, "NL" is 500-max spread-limit (exactly the same as in Washington state). State law.

Everything.

It is officially spread limit.

The lowest limit is 2/3 blinds, $100 min buy-in $300 max buy-in. The max bet in this game is $300, so the spread limit really hardly affects the game. Two opponents would have to not only have stacks of greater than $1000, they would also have to both get in a huge pot with each other for the $300 max to hinder you.

There is also a 3/5 game with a min buy-in of $300 (I think) and a max buy-in of $1000 (again, I think). This game has a max bet of $500.

Both these games run pretty much around the clock, but may die down a bit some overnight.

There is also a 5/10 game with the same max bet of $500. This game goes much more rarely and is often short-handed. The min and max buy-ins are unknown to me.

The above are the main spread/NL games.

There is also 3/6, 4/8 pretty much around the clock.

8/16 usually starts in late morning, and sometimes a 6/12 goes as well.

There is also 4/8 and 8/16 Omaha 8/b daily.

On either Sat or Sun a 6/12 Stud 8/b game goes pretty reliably with the same crew.

There is also normally at least one 20/40 game going from late morning throughout the day. Sometimes a second picks up, and then usually a higher limit game of 40/80+ either hold'em or mixed. Anything above that is based on who is in the building.
