Verbal actions over which a player has control (raising) are a lot different than those over which he has no control (which player wins at showdown). I suppose it is a good idea to protect yourself though.

New to the valley... Do you lot think that Talking Stick is the best poker room over here?

it's not really debatable, more ganes, tables and limits than anywhere else.

I don't know why the rule was changed. I can't remember even a single complaint in the limit games over trying to make out of turn table talk binding, so my guess is they have some issues in the spread limit games that led to this.
There were no issues, he had a solution in search of a problem.

Hi everybody,

I just moved to town and I'm expecting to play some here -- the main thing I can't figure out despite scouring this thread and the TSR website is how many points are required to reach status levels in the rewards card program. Anybody have anything they can share there (via PM is fine if it's somehow super-secret!)?

Look forward to seeing ya'll at the tables.

Yeah, I have no idea, probably some mystery formula.

Best advice is to ask at the player's club.

I wouldn't worry about this fwiw. Caz is not like vegas. Until you get to the platinum card the benefits are minimal. Getting there takes a lot of play.

Is platinum reachable with only poker is I guess perhaps a better question?

You get gold pretty fast, I think it's 500 hours of play (500 points/hour X 100 hours). Gld card gets you 10% off food in poker room. That's really all you need to know.

You'll prob get a few free play offers and free crockpot offers in the mail from this as well.

Hi guys, I haven't been here in a few months.

Can someone explain the new players carb/food comp system for me? Thanks!

Edit:
Also, I remember reading before that they installed the Audio Anywhere system for the TVs. Does that still work?

Follow-up question, can I still use a punch card to get a free meal? I have a few full ones from when I use to play there.

i think its odd to see dealers playing in games before or after their shifts.

Don't forget about during.

Doesn't bother me, but I can see it bothering people at the lowest stakes.

its always good to see dealers playing in the games. one they mostly lose. and two they get to learn what things to do and what is right and wrong. and the players can feel okay to talk to them about those things when they arent in the box.

it makes for better games and better dealers that relate to their customers. and the dealers then make better tips and have more money to lose in the games.

I can't think of any reason why there would be an instance where the cards don't speak for themselves EVER if tabled after all action has been complete. When did some magical new rule get put in play to change this poker basic?

If I say I have a straight but I really don't, does that mean I really have a straight? Saying "I can't win" all of a sudden means I lose to your checked behind worse hand? Even if I say it AFTER you have checked behind? Etc etc

I don't even know how or why river verbal declarations are even being acknowledged if it doesn't have anything to do with checking, betting, calling, raising, or folding. There can't be any way any of these instances were expected to be part of the rule changes, can there?

It's referring to what someone posted a few days ago about someone saying "you win" at a showdown and having the pot given to a guy with a worse hand than him.

Cards should always speak unless there was intentional deception by the speaker.

FWIW I've heard from several sources that this ruling was overruled by the Poker Room manager, and that this was not the intended outcome of the new rule.

"You Win" is binding with action to follow despite tabling the best. Haha, yup I could see that being ruled there. The player getting money back later makes it less of an outrage I guess huh...
