No, I just thought it was funny. He made it sound like someone's pooping schedule was a choice. Like "I really have to poop, but already pooped once so I better practice self control and hold it until tomorrow."

I've been following this thread since last year and I have to say that it has been an entertaining ride hearing about both of you. Keep it up and GL with all things poker!

Josh, the cleanse seems like a great idea. I've been working at making my health more of a priority in my life as well. I ****in looooove ****ty food so it has been a work in progress to say the least.

I've watched a couple of movies lately that have been really helpful. Food Matters and Hungry For Change. Not only do they contain a **** load of useful information, they also help me stay motivated when I feel like making an XL pizza a personal pizza. Another one I've heard is really good is Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead. It has more to do with juicing which could be good for you since it is something that you are already comfortable with.

Good luck with this and post lots in here. I'm very interested to see how this cleanse goes/make you feel. I might have to give a try too!

@x If you keep telling these good tourney/sng players to quit playing them because it's a highligh reel and eventually they decide you are right. Then they start filling the cash games because not every sng/tourney player is bad at cash, what do you think is going to happen for your cash hourly? Some people going to tard others going to really tard.

@Deion Good sarcasm, if it is common, care to explain? If you think sarcasm is a way of educating you are wrong. If you were just trying to be a douche, well achieved. Sure it's no $1000 item, however, it could be, it's most likely $40-$50 but give some effort to not be a tool.

The calendar is cool and I would pay €5 for it easy. No sarcasm.

Also some fairly simple eating changes can go a long way. Eat a good breakfast. Use spray butter instead of stick or tub butter. Poop regularly (once a day). You don't have to not eat fast food or cut out all unhealthy snacks. Every 3rd or 4th day I'll eat a different, definitely-not-as-healthy dinner. Or I'll go out to eat at a restaurant with a friend. Small changes are much easier to make and maintain than a spontaneous big change.
Yea small changes confirmed better than just trying to do them all at once. For me personally, the near 'all at once' changes can go more smoothly just simply because other than eat the food that's brought to me, I don't have to focus on anything else WRT the food I'm intaking (no shopping, preparing, etc).

I've said it a few times already, but I would be screwed and unable to do this w/out this girl, truly lucky that she lives in Rosarito right now.

After the cleanse, I'm hoping that she can still prepare at least 50% of my meals, especially bfast. Will probably do a lot of Mongolian Grill for meals she doesn't prepare and then just be more careful with what I order when I'm out.

Yea no way I'd be spending <$100 a week buying a lot of organic food.

If I missed any posts, sorry in advance, there were a lot since I last looked at the thread, including some troll ones and responses to said troll .

I woke up literally about 5 hours later than I planned to wake up today which sucks, as I missed the early games which are obviously better than the peak games, albeit lower traffic. Probably am going to just take today fully off, maybe play 1 or 2 small sessions, but we'll see.

Not sure why I overslept so much today, but I told myself that this 10 days was going to be focusing on my health and well being, and when the alarm went off at 2:30am, I definitely wasn't ready to wake up. I slept really well though, something I haven't done without drugs in a long time, which is obviously super promising. And, once I got up and going today, I'm feeling really good today and my energy level is still there which is also good!

Didn't post much more about what I did yesterday health wise past my bfast pics; ended up grinding a couple more hours after bfast, then relaxed for a bit before my lunch showed up which consisted of a good sized salad and then homemade yogurt which was really good.

After lunch, I watched another ep of Mad Men and then did some stretching for ~10-15 mins and then went and took a walk on the beach. Came back and played 1 more session and then was done with poker for the day and soon after had dinner delivered which was a stir fry with a side salad. She commented that normally there wouldn't anything so 'heavy' like a stir fry but that she likes to ease people through the detox and get their bodies acquainted to the new food choices and whatnot.

Everything she's made so far tastes good, she promised that she made the food taste good and she has definitely kept her promise .

Anyway yea, that's all I have for today, gonna just relax and 1 table the 265 KO as I have bfast showing up between about 8:45am and 9:15am (8am now) and then I might get in a session after I eat before lunchtime.

Gla on the grind, will hopefully have a successful day 2 myself!

Heh also just thought of something kinda funny and random, but also kind of sad. My 2p2 'family' only really knows the full details of this detox, I didn't post anything on FB nor do I plan to, and I told my Mom a bit about it, but she doesn't know I was up to smoking >1/2 a pack of cigs a day, taking xanax/other drugs a lot, and blazing every day.

Sucks I don't feel comfortable being truthful to her, I just know that as an ex smoker of 20+ yrs herself, she would be really really pissed knowing I was smoking cigs. And funnily enough, she would think that peeling bananas is worse than banging strippers/working girls which is hilarious in itself and sad. But yea,was just thinking about the fact that this is the only 'family' I can be fully truthful with.

<3 the fact that I have somewhere where I can post almost () all my thoughts and actions and it's completely fine.

/End random thought

Sorry to hear about this dude.

But like most people who smoke they all know what the consequences can be.

I myself smoked for around 10 years 20 a day ect

But i quit once reading a book called "easy way to stop smoking by allen carr"

Here is the link to the P5s thread i made when i quit quite a while ago.

I smoked for about 20 years all in all, during this time I had periods where I gave up every now and again.. but this book actually made me understand the problems with quitting smoking and why it is actually easy. I am a non smoker today because of this book. If you want to give up, and you have to want to, then this book will work.

Edit: I have nothing to do with the book or any reason to promote it other than it helped me kick the habit.

Have your parents bring you down a vitamix machine when they visit (next month?).

Having this chick help you kickstart it and somewhat hold you accountable is a godsend. But with a little effort I think youll be able to maintain by yourself in the event you need to. Vitamixing or juicing a couple times a day is good for meal replacement or snacks and quick and easy enough where you cant use those as excuses to eat something less healthy. And then just making sure youre stocked with healthy snacks and meals to prepare and have lots of quick and easy go to meals.

But like i said having her to start out is awesome. I def agree with her here,

Both for the effects drastically changing your nutritional intake would have on your biochemistry but also the psychological aspect of completely switching to light meals making it more likely youll cheat or just quit. I do think theres something to be said for just going hardcore like a juice/smoothie fast and the weeklong one i did was good for me. But i think right now already going cold turkey with other substances it's smart to be a little more conservative in your dietary changes.

Hows the not smoking cigs going. That has to be the hardest part of all of this.

To ruse and the ^^ posters, I think I'm going to be fine with quitting the cigarettes, I haven't been smoking that long and I think my willpower is going to overcome all the **** I take/do regularly because I actually want to make a positive change. The weirdest/worst part is basically any time I went out on my balcony, I lit up a cig, so I think about them every time I step out there which has been quite often the past 1.5 days

My parents aren't coming until October if they do come which sucks, I might have you teach me how to make some staples and how to juice (plus how to shop for this ****) at some point if you'd be willing; can talk about that in the future obv.

I think the way she has me going about this is definitely great and I'm feeling alright so far which is sweet; I think days 3-7 are probably going to be very hard, but hoping to just get through it 1 day at a time.

_____________________________________

Decided no poker for today, games are usually pretty bad on Tuesday anyway and since I got such a late start I just said F it. 1 tabled the 265 KO and ended up mincashing; have an 11th, 12th, 20th and 21st in it the past week (rain).

Have lunch coming in 30 mins, then am playing tennis with Ruse, thaibargirl8 and oct_c a few hours after, this will be my first real test as I'm sure ruse will be using some substances in front of me .

Probs will be super tired after playing, hoping to hit the hay early and actually wake up around 3am tomorrow and get some volume in from 3am-9am when my bfast comes, and then probs once again, take it ez the rest of the day.

Gla on the tables

______________________________

Just woke up and am feeling pretty good heading into day 3 of the detox. Hoping to get in a bit of volume today after taking all of yesterday off.

Went and played tennis for ~2 hours yday with the guys who came over and after playing, I had the worst craving I've had yet....for a gatorade. I guess if the thing I've wanted the most so far is a gatorade and not a cigarette, beer, or something else that's worse, then that's a good sign .

Was pretty exhausted after playing tennis, got my dinner ~1 hour later and then went to bed pretty soon after. Unfortunately, I didn't sleep that well last night. Think I was waking up at least once an hour/having trouble going back to sleep after waking up. Not sure what was going on, but I felt pretty good when I got up today, so whatever I guess; all part of the process.

Anyway, gonna get on the grind right now and play 2 sessions before my bfast shows up at ~9 in 4 hrs, poker/life update to come at the end of the day, gla!

Thx haven't fully made the changes yet, but am working on it .

______________________________________

So as we turn the page into August, and I'm at a point in my life I've really never been at before (in terms of trying to put good stuff in my body for once over bad stuff ), I'm pretty sure that I'm going to change up my grind.

I talked to a few people whose opinion matters the most to me (didn't catch some of them like Ruse, but got enough), and we basically all agreed on the fact that between 1. Killing myself and getting to 2mil VPPs or 2. Giving up on 2mil VPPs and focusing on my health for the rest of the yr, that #2 should be the easy choice.

At this point, I'm going to be lucky to be at 1mil VPPs by August 14th (~850k right now and 7 days of cleanse left); last yr I had ~715k vpps to go on Aug 14th when I decided to go for SNE. The main thing that makes it tougher this yr is that I'll be playing a much lower abi this yr than last (~$80 abi instead of ~$120 abi) as the games have gotten tougher and I haven't really improved a whole lot/stayed ahead of the curve.

So this would be a pretty big grind I'd have to put in, basically 10k VPPs every single day the rest of the yr working ~6.5 days a week, which wouldn't leave a whole lot of time for focusing on my health, getting in shape by going to the gym, etc etc.

The thing to me that makes this an easier decision is that I was already fully planning on switching up my grind in 2014, switching to 18mans/other mtsngs/turbo mtts during my 'peak' grind, and then adding in 1-2 hours of either $30-60 6m hts or $60-100 hts during the softer times just for the added VPPs. By stopping the 2mil grind now, I'd just be moving up the already planned change by 5 months and I wouldn't have the pressure of putting in X number of VPPs and therefore will probably be able to focus a lot more on my health and wellness, something that's worth more in the long term than the amount of money I could make killing myself to get to 2mil.

So yea, there it is, I guess I've failed at the 2mil goal but I'm pretty happy with the decision overall, and hopefully will be ready to go for 2014 both in terms of my 18m skill and my health skill .

In other news, the detox is continuing to go pretty well; I didn't sleep well again last night, but I'm pretty used to that and my body is probably battling it out inside due to this weird healthy food it's consuming and the lack of bad stuff I'm putting into it . Overall feeling pretty good, we're on day 4 right now and I'm thinking if I get through today just fine, that the rest of the detox I won't have to worry about any insane cravings/mood swings/craziness (yn) (yn).

Yea so that's all I have for today, gl to everyone on the grind. Hoping to put in a good amount of 18m volume today, but am also going to be studying spots quite a bit as well this month as I haven't really ever put in 18m volume or study.

Edit: On a completely random sidenote, if the transition to 18s fails, Ill just play $30 6m hts to start the yr in 2014 on my own dime and get SNE that way

Health should always be in front of everything !
08-01-2013 , 07:33 AM
What would your hourly diff be if you start playing 18m in 2014 instead of playing 6m hypers. Do you think there will be a big diff between the 2?

Good stuff man. I know it's only been a few days but way to stay on track.
