Awesome thread, subbed. Funny how we seem to be in such a similar position at a similar time in London. Gives me hope that I can still go down the city job route and play poker semi-seriously

Right people. Beer advice; put down your lager and try some Doom Bar. It's good for your soul and increases your chance to flop sets by 5% per pint for 24 hours.

I was just walking to meet my GF's family for her birthday and was a little early. Happened across this pub and lo and behold they have my favourite tipple.

Give me a shout when you're about, would be good to meet some 2p2'ers. Not sure I'll be playing myself but I'm sure I'll jump into some side events.

Ah shame, are you both going to Australia? Big world and plenty to see out there!

Good poker in Ireland I've heard, same in Oz depending on where you are and your tolerance of high rake.

All 1/1 is soft imo, safety I don't want to comment on but I feel fine everywhere I play.

Currently sitting at the Vic, in for £200, let's go!

I'd agree although I never personally had problems.

In for £200 on £115

Boring night tonight, ended up down £100. Need to be more disciplined on these kind of night and not try to force things. I also have a habit of pretty much never leaving less than a buyin down, I'll always keep playing to either get even or lose at least £100 trying. Very bad habit!

Providing GF gets back from Paris today in time we're off to see Gregory Porter tonight, otherwise grabbing supper somewhere. Probably won't get a live session in but will try get some hands in this evening online afterwards.

Anyone seen him before?

Maybe pick up a copy of "the mental game of poker" by jared tendler? It's one of the best books on the subject of mental game in poker and a necessity to read if you're serious about poker imo.

Are you & your gf into jazz/soul? I've only heard "be good" of him, was pretty good. Anyway, enjoy yourselves tonight!

I have read that book and it's done wonders for me. To be fair I'm actually pretty happy with my mental game in the whole, I wrote that post a little in frustration at how I played.

Looking forward to tonight but I don't think we'll be able to go, she gets back from Paris around 8:15 so we'll likely miss it. I do however love jazz/blues.

In other news my boss (a woman) just got asked when walking back from a meeting to stand on someone's hand so he could take a picture for a pain fetish website he is setting up. She obviously has the look.
