      A couple more hands here:-

Again a 3bet hand where we get a great flop. Decide to check back as it seems people are quite willing to bet in bad spots and he obliges on the turn and river.

Another 3bet pot and villain takes a bit of a weird line but the old bet/check/bet line always seems to be strong.

Focusing on playing good is always +EV. The rest is variance

I just wish I could focus on the playing good when I feel that variance has aggrieved me.

Just out of interest what are your thoughts on playing AK at the lower level micros?

I know villain dependant and all that but I just got AK all in pre in what I thought was a pretty standard spot and I would do at NL25+ all the time but the guy showed up with AA. When the money is going in against someone who isnt an obvious fish it just seems that maybe it may be a losing play stacking off with it against villains whos 4bet ranges seem incredibly tight. I think I would feel kinda dirty 3bet/folding AK though.

In general, I think people overplay TT-QQ, AK preflop at the micros.

Just played a pretty brutal session. I managed to get a couple of dollars off been able to add in a couple of NL10 tables but variance hit and I dont think I have ever bet/folded so much in my life. Seemed to be 3bet a lot and my redline takes a massive nose dive after running pretty level. Managed to get set over setted as well which sucked a bit as I was just thinking to myself that I dont seem to have flopped a lot of sets so far.

Anyway balance is now at $28 or so for today. Will post graphs and cashier in the morning and then see what I can do tommorow.

Had a spare 30 minutes to kill so decided to play another session. Tables were good and despite losing another all in KK vs AA I still managed to make just over 4 buyins to take my balance to $52.76 so will be adding in a couple of NL10 tables tomorrow. I might drop those tables when I drop to $40 or $35 a bit undecided on that one as I have tried to stagger it a bit.

Nothing much to report hand wise as I ran good in some good spots apart from the KK hand.

Just a quick update to say I hadnt played any poker until today and hadnt really thought much about Poker. Worked on a few off table things and looking at ways to break these old habits and a lot of it is simply going to be down to me taking time before making decisions at the table and planning ahead.

I played a few hands today but Im not going to just dive right back in its going to be a gradule thing as I continue to work on these other areas. The session itself went well and I did take my time and I feel I played pretty well making good decisions. I 4bet in the session about 3 times and all of them I thought were in good spots. I semi-bluff raised post flop a couple of times and shut down after bad cards came on the turn in one of them instead of just betting willy nilly.

Apart from knowing I ended up for the session I dont know how much as I didnt check my results. Hopefully this can be an ongoing thing and something Im going to try and work on to try and keep me less results oriented.
GL to you, sir ! Still following ya. Seems like you tried to understand your problems well and also took a good aproach to deal with it (not checking results, only caring about playing well in particular spots).

Oh, and now I can see you are playing micros from the bottom up. Will follow I will definitely learn something from you. GL

You have tightened up mate ..

Quite surprised you have tightened up so much at these stakes, normally players dropping this many levels tend to open up even more .. so at least your showing good discipline !

Its probably more a Zoom thing to be honest. I tried to listen to Phil Galfond in that although say opening a hand like J8s in the CO may be slightly +EV for me the time it takes to wait and see if someone opens before getting the chance to play I can fold and get to a hand that is more +EV in quicker time.

Its like my blinds I am simply giving up most of the time unless I have a pretty good hand where as a the reg tables I feel you have to fight more in certain spots because we cant simply quick fold.

is it really correct to tighten up playing zoom when everybody else is tight??

I think it probably is at the micros when people make big mistakes and will pay you off light and Phil Galfond is a bit better than me.

Played a funny session just now looked like I were going to have to move back down after getting set over setted twice but it swung the other way nicely as well after that....

Not sure on this one. PP any lower and I would fold pre, I decide to check/raise thinking he pays off with AQ/AK. I think its a fair assumption and I do really well vs that range.

This a spot I kinda discussed with my coach where I could get more value than I did. Im not sure on the turn check back I get folds from AK, I get calls from QQ/JJ and then might get raised by only FH`s and AA.

River is a fantastic card for me and villain leads. bet/check/bet is a made hand like 9.5/10 against a reg, maybe more , but I think he bets the turn with made hands and AA so raising to get calls from QQ/JJ. I think I can raise a touch more or even shove although shove looks really strong.

                            BR upto $67 now.

Just speaking from experience in regards to tight is right. I have seen it from the other side and I am the guy who is 3betting too much and playing too many hands and then when the tight guys play back at me im also the person who cant fold and then also the person that gets in 4bet wars and wonders why they always show up with aces.

Im seeing a lot of 3betting at NL10 and I can see why people get scared by the jump in aggression but what people should remember is that most of these players 3betting loads are likely BE or losing players because they use aggression in bad spots. Even at looking at some of the hands I have posted people are all too keen to bet in bad spots and pay you off when you have a hand.

Im going to let them keep 3betting me and raising flops against me because I know that when I do have a hand they are going to pay me off and make some big mistakes. I think a happy medium is to have a few bluffs in your range pre, be capable of 4bet bluffing in good spots but also be able to make some good folds as well but postflop at these levels you can just play really straight forward, raising when you have it, folding when you dont etc and people will just see that you are a bit loose pre flop and will think you must be the same post flop.

Oh and my last session I played 12/10 FTW.

KK: I think I 4bet/call pre. Why is flat calling better? OTT I bet half pot as played. Raising OTR seems fine as played but I would have raised a bit more although I expect JJ/QQ to double barrel OTT.

I think I flatted pre simply because i have run in to AA a lot lately and I expect him to be strong 3betting pre given positions. Maybe Im over thinking it though because if I 4bet maybe I get called by QQ/JJ but get shoved on by AA.

This is a spot that I seem to play badly quite often OTT and Im not sure its the first time its come up in the thread. I just tend to lean towards thinking most people are checking to give up and rather than auto bet will either bet tiny or check behind on the turn.

Do you think villain calls w/ AK/JJ/QQ most of the time or 3bet/fold those hands?

So you just called w/ KK, OK. What about postflop? Do you call on most flops (obviously) and decide OTT? What if turn is still J-high and villain fires again?

Just a quick example of people paying off. Villain is pretty loose and has been 3betting a ton. I insta 3bet him pre and insta raised his bet and he looses his stack.

I tend to see people call 4bets with hands like TT/JJ/QQ and then sometimes AK. It seems to be hands they like but feel are too strong to fold and not strong enough to stack. Funny thing is half of the time on low boards they suddenly think their QQ/JJ is the nuts and start raising.

A lot of the time Im going to call the flop and turn and expect people just to play really honest in 3bet pots.

Set over set in my favor and now my roll stands at $82 so going to be hitting 4 tables of NL10 now and maybe drop down if I get to $65.
