I'm also a 0/n for hearing any of those G songs. Think I've literally heard of 1 band other than the one G always lists as his fave.
Gave a *very* quick listen to all. Couple of the girl-ones sounded a bit like Metric (0 songs on my iPod but a couple of tunes I don't skip by on the radio).
Guesses at live songs:
Blue October (duh?)
Naked & Famous (good chance with 2 songs being on list?)
Churches (simply cuz that's the only other band I've heard of on the list)
The Wombats (simply cuz it's the best band name on the list)
Bowie never really did anything for me. I have Rebel Rebel and Suffragette City on my iPod. Should probably have Heroes but I don't.
I'm not the biggest fan of pop music, but admittedly the music back then was superior to my generations. Bowie is tolerable imo. Here's my top five:
1. Space Oddity
2. Modern Love
3. Golden Years
4. Fame
5. Under Pressure
I own over 20 of his albums and Bowie would be by far the biggest musical influence on my life.
Ultimately, he was about albums and not songs and (trying not to sound too pretentious), some of the songs seem different in the context of their albums.
I think his most perfect song is Young Americans and my favourite 5 are
Young Americans
Starman
Five Years
Quicksand
Modern Love
Clear favourite album is Hunky Dory followed by Ziggy Stardust, Young Americans, Low and Heroes. Also still listen to Love You Til Tuesday a lot, which is a weird early compilation album that isn’t at all critically acclaimed but just seem to work

Did your wife load any of these records on your Ipod?
