Although I will say it is an uphill climb:
the “rake” is atrocious compared to Vegas or TX. As it’s not even a rake, it’s a drop. So $6 taken as soon as the flop is dealt and then $1 if you see a river I believe. Even if the pot has $15 in it. Adding a $1 tip it’s $8 a hand.
8 x the standard 3 hands won an hour is $24/hr.
24 x 2400 hours is $57,600. Housing is $25,000/yr~. CA has super high state income taxes, Nevada and Texas don’t have any.
The traffic is miserable.
Also, the euros are everywhere in the mid-high stakes games app
but all that being said, the weather is incredible and I grew up there. A lot of my closest friends are out there.
