St. Patrick at the GCG says "Let their monies March" LC/NC Thread St. Patrick at the GCG says "Let their monies March" LC/NC Thread

There's a thread over in OOT in which they're raising money for charity on the single spin of a roulette wheel. Ordinary, I wouldn't post my involvement in such an endeavor, but I got outed and figured, "What the hell. I'd like for my friends to join me."

My designated charity is the Wounded Warrior Project. Joe Tall is placing a five fun tic bet on #33 for me at 7PM Vegas time in case any of you would like to sweat this.

WTF? I just found a bottle of Panda Express Orange Chicken stir fry sauce in the fridge, which is pretty much like finding out your wife has been using Prego to make her "authentic" Italian pasta all these years.

It's amazing how much more clarity you have when you're drunk.

Bovada is rigged.

Wife and I are leaving for Tunica in a couple of hours. Will try to post a few hands from the 20 game and review another wine that I'll be getting at the Chicago Steakhouse. It's good to be getting away after a brutal (work-wise) two months.

Enjoy your trip Leo, you deserve it!

Seems like you are the epitome of work hard, play hard.

Bellagio regs, what's up with the 10/20? I fly in tonight and will probably play through tomorrow night-ish
Smart play waiting for tomorrow. If I had a thousand dollars for every time I got off the plane super tired and had a huge loss, I'd still be down.

Sadly, you're spot-on; but I'm striving for work less, play more.

My wife laughed at your story.

Also, are you sure that you didn't buy the stuff while she was away?

On the other hand, I remember carpooling to lunch with some Chinese co-workers, a couple of them born there, driving by a Panda Express and having them each comment on their favorite things on the Panda Express menu. I was perplexed.

My favorite is the Orange chicken 'cause it tastes homemade.

Oh damn.

I think people get way too worked up about "authentic" Chinese food. Sure, I like going to Chinatown and having a waiter wave a live fish in my face. But I like Panda Express too. It's not authentic, but I didn't expect it to be. Panda Express is American food inspired by Chinese cuisine IMO.

Maybe your wife sold them her recipe.

I have a friend who was born in China but now lives here in the US. His family, until a year or two ago, owned a Chinese restaurant. We asked him if what he ate at home or when he visits China is like what they serve in his restaurant, and his answer was "No, in the restaurant, we serve American Chinese food."

I worked in a Chinese restaurant and occasionally got drafted to help dispense takeout orders. The order confirmations were printed in Chinese and I'm basically illiterate, but as 75-80% of our orders consisted of just 6 items, all I really needed to know what to read was:

1. Fried dumplings
2. Chicken fingers
3. Chicken wings
4. Scallion pancake
5. Egg rolls
6. General Gau's chicken
7. Beef
8. Pork
9. Noodle
10. Rice

Occasionally people would come in at 2:30-3 when the employees ate, and there'd be like 3 tables pushed together with a giant steamed fish head and a big pile of garlic pea sprouts and 15 people all crowded around yelling at each other in Cantonese, and we'd have to explain the food wasn't on the menu and Chinese people liked to eat in groups of 15.

It was always funny watching the wide-eyed white people witness the spectacle.

Started the 20 at the B earlier today. Was up 30 bets then some grandma owned my soul in two ginormous pots.

I open JJ ep. Grandma 3b.

Flop q-9-7 all clubs.

She bets. I c/r.

Turn 10. I bet, she raises. River 10. She has 1010.

Next hand.

Grandma power limps the ace and the five of spades. LAG-ish aZn raises in mp.
Hero calls bb with 10-jdd

Flop: 10-5-8cc

Cks to aZn. I raise. Grandma CALLS. AZn calls.

Turn: x.

I bet, two calls.

River: Ac.

I bet. Grandma raises. AZn calls. I obv fold.

Damn she's good. I did cash 14 bets. :/
