I just wanna congratulate myself on relevan nitpicking here too.
I think Shane said he evacuated the hospital. I took that to mean that he knowingly left Rick alive (but in a coma) in the hospital.

Nit of the week: pretty sure you wouldn't hunt gray squirrels with a crossbow and arrows, the arrowhead would destroy most of the usable meat.

WTF is Shane suppose to do there? Drag Rick with him while ea in a coma? Still, guess it shows it was preplanned that he was going to make a move on Lori. Wish it was more clear.

I really like the Asian kid. Hope he doesn't die. Speaking o which, no deaths yet? Odd. They're introducing a lot of new characters so eventually they gotta thin the herd.

Yeah I agree that it doesn't make Shane a terrible person. As for Shane's motivations, it was probably a combination of making the pragmatic choice of leaving Rick behind, and also being jealous of Rick's family. Shane seemed to legitimately enjoy being a father figure for Carl. Post-zombie apocalypse, the odds of him having his own wife and kid are mostly gone.

I thought he just assumed Rick was dead, how good of a chance can you give a guy in a coma against hordes of zombies?

Even if Rick had a great chance at being alive (he was being flown to ATL which was overrun with zombies) how would they get in touch with him? Shane would have to risk someones life on a huge long shot that Rick is going to be somewhere in ATL and not dead or in a coma.

I think it's reasonable that Shane wrote Rick off as effectively dead.

Shane left Rick for dead, and had every reason to assume that he was in fact dead. I don't know how you get something other than that from my post.

Also, Shane knew that Rick hadn't been airlifted to Atlanta.

looks like the quarry off of Beaver Ruin Road near the Mall and given that they always show them coming south on I-85 makes the most since.

either that or somewhere near stone mountain.

well tbh could also be Lithia Springs as that is the highest point around Atlanta giving you a better view of downtown. but then you wouldn't come down 85, not that they would ever be trying for that kind of accuracy...

pretty much what Fly said. Put you in similar circumstances and i don't think you are going to be thinking the door holds or that one can't fit through the crack, nor are you going to be thinking all that rationally.

Seemed to me that they were implying that Shane intentionally lied about Rick being dead. "You told me Rick was dead" is a pretty big revelation plot-wise and doesn't seem to make sense to then later undercut it with something like "Yeah well I had to assume he was given the situation...." "Oh well then never mind, sorry for getting mad." I think Shane pulled some shady ****.

All in all, great ep, much better than the last one. Loved Shane taking out his frustration on the wife-beater, loved the reunion moment and loved the ending setting up a one-handed racist dude on the loose and the fact that they weren't able to redeem themselves to him.

Also, when Rick and his wife and about to get it on and she says, re: the son, "He won't wake up." How does she know that? She's been boning Shane next to her son? Brutal!

I didn't watch the "next on" part- but it seems obvious to assume that Racist Guy #1 now has the guns. Given that this is based off comic books, I assume one of them is now his other hand.

I think that's a pretty good guess. Could possibly be further up I-85, as well.

I didn't think it could be Stone Mountain, as they wouldn't be going to/from downtown via I-85 (or what looks to be I-85 - I can't remember if they actually refer to the highway by name).

I wish I knew about the filming. Would have been cool to catch a glimpse. I was an extra in a movie that was filmed in Atlanta and had to turn down another opportunity - would've been fun to try to get a zombie role.

You mean when he wakes up the next day? I thought those were just clean clothes and shoes left him by the ladies while they washed his zombie blood clothes. Although I did read it for a split second the other way.

Yeah, we're halfway through the season and they just burned a whole episode on introducing like 5 new characters.

I, again, really like this show. It flies by, like I'll start watching it and glance at a clock and it's 33 minutes past the hour immediately. But having so many characters is probably one of the reasons they have to make the ******* characters such transparent cartoon characters.

That's a cool idea. Although, it could make simple tasks like taking a leak somewhat hazardous .

The last two episodes have been frustrating. I feel like this show could be so much better than it is if they had just chosen to go down a different path with it. After the pilot I was hoping for basically No Country For Old Men except with zombies (or maybe more like The Road with zombies actually) but introducing a large group of people and the guy finding his family so quickly have basically ruined that dream. What I'm hoping happens now is that with Rick eventually finding out about Shane banging his wife, and Shane beating up the wife beater and the women being unhappy with him that Shane gets shunned and is forced to leave and make it on his own, with the focus of the show switching more and more to him. I know it's unlikely but I'm sure I would enjoy the show a lot more that way.

I thought this was really poor. He goes from "I'm doing it because I have to save the guy" to "I'm doing it for the guns and walkie talkies" basically mid sentence.

zombies were attempting to force their way through the door. i guess they didn't make it through but how is the redneck guys supposed to know that they wouldn't? he sees zombies and thinks he has the get the **** out of there as fast as possible.

imo They should be far more concerned that a zombie wandered over to their camp. Did not seem like the best time for all the men and guns to go into town.

They still had Shane to beat any stray zombies into a pulp and make them think twice about trying to bite anyone.
