I thought s1 was good. S2 seemed quite a bit worse, couldn’t get through it.

This is competing for worst tv show name of the year, but the first two episodes have been excellent:

Henry Blake
Hank Schrader

I think this is the 3rd post I’ve seen on 2p2 saying Smth similar. Gave it a try and seems unwatchable, I only lasted 15 min.

AV Club gave the first 2 eps an A. Those aren’t given out too often so I think I’m on board!

I watched the 1st 2 episodes, I am not excited about watching. It's just another average show, and her accent is annoying, also her name is Mare is annoying. lol

I will keep watching, I guess.

cat stark was not only stupid (the whole thing surrounding her just snap believing littlefinger about terion being the one to try and kill bran was so idiotic on so many levels and her entire method of exacting vengeance was beyond moronic) but also incredibly unlikable (how anyone could not think she was a stone ***** just for the way she treated jon snow is beyond me) not sure how anyone could find her death tragic.

ok the above paragraph is written horrendously and I apologize for that but I'm way too tired to try and rewrite it.

cliff notes: cat stark is a stupid ***** who cares if she died.

Can we please drop the deaths discussion, move it to its own thread, or at least put stuff in spoilers?

In other news, I watched the first three episodes of Mr. Inbetween. Living up to the hype.

broke and watched mr inbetween, really enjoy it but wouldn't put it up into elite territory albeit still a fantastic show worth watching

primarily though, the cast really carries the show, it's so good, especially the lead who is also the writer/creator and it's based off an indie movie he made called the magician that i'll have to track down

but he's super charismatic and really good in it, had they cast someone else i don't think it would work

hate that he's playing a 40 year old though, doesn't look remotely 40 and i looked up his age and sure enough he's 51

was also shocked they randomly had some titties in one scene, didn't know fx could show that, but if they could, it begs the question why not have more given so many scenes happen in a strip club

also feel like i got bait and switched, would have never guessed what he did for a living based on the clips shown here

also watching sunderland til i die, very good documentary about a soccer obsessed city in england

does big little lies get good

bill simmons raved about it so gave it a shot but find myself bored, not caring and drifting away instead of watching, struggling to get through first episode

is it worth plowing through?

It's on Amazon Prime, and the same concept but I tried it for a few minutes and couldn't get into it. Will just stick with the show.

i liked s1, but it doesn't get any better. if you don't like it from the start, then it's not for you.

Well, maybe I should've just put the entire Red Wedding as the shocking/sad part. Although as a plot device it was pretty brilliant.

I don't find The red Wedding or Stringer Bell's death as sad ones, as they both were predictable.

I never read ASOIAF, but when Robb/Cat decided to go to the wedding, my first thought was "this will not end well."

Stringer was tempting fate playing both ends against the middle. No way he was going to last. Plus the conversation between Omar and Brother Muzzone just prior to shooting Springer was great.

another absurdity about caitlin stark storyline was that ned didn't tell her the truth about jon. obv just a plot device, but come on. that was such an absurd choice. obv cat could have kept the secret and been good to jon, and understanding to ned.

but her terrible character on game of thrones made it all the better when jack bauer killed her

This is the first time I've heard of anyone being sad about Stringer's death. GREAT character of course, but a piece of ****.

1000%

the only defense for him not telling her is perhaps he thought if she was nice to him or even didn't actively hate him then ppl would suspect he wasn't really his bastard so he needed her to hate him but meh regardless she was still just so unlikeable and stupid.

Imo the ending is worth the slow build up. It was really well done.

S2 is watchable for Meryl Streep too.
