Finished The Bureau about 2 weeks ago and really wanted to find another espionage, spy type of show to watch. Unfortunately nothing can live up to that high water mark. Truly loved the show and am sad I have no more episodes to watch.

Started Rubicon which was recommended. About half way through. It's fine. Nothing special. 10 or so years ago it was made.

Tehran looked right up my alley but it's fairly boiler plate bullshit. It's fine but doesn't really excite me.

Any other suggestions out there?

Did rip through Ted Lasso with the wife over the last week. Really enjoyed and one of my favorites in a while from comedy perspective. Funny and charming all the way through.

For espionage stuff, try Berlin Station (Epix). No in the class of The Bureau, but not bad.

My usual recommendation of Black Sails (Starz). Underrated show. Caribbean pirate culture set around 1700. Combines real historical figures from the era with characters from Treasure Island.

Try the mini-series The Night Manager if you've not seen it. Adapted from a John le Carre novel and has a fantastic cast, it won a ton of awards.

I finished Tehran and found it enjoyable, though certainly not in the same league as The Bureau. I was bummed too, once it was over. I'm surprised you don't like Rubicon. I recall really enjoying it. Something else you might try is Occupied. I've also recently enjoyed The Morning Show and Search Party.

Homeland, or the Israeli version of it?

Spooks
Intelligence (it's Canadian)

Watched S1 of Occupied and then forgot about it. Good call.

Seen Homeland but not Israeli version. May look that one up.

I liked it but only got through 7 eps because I just got bored of it and didn't care anymore. I forgot to mention Caliphate as the best thing I've seen since the Bureau.

Back is, well, back for S2 in a week. Good British sitcom starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb (guys off Peep Show) and only 6 episodes.

I watched the Bureau a couple of months ago and went looking for more spy/intelligence shows afterwards. I'd recommend not doing that as everything else will just be disappointing in comparison. I watched a couple of episodes each of Spooks/MI:5, the Americans, and Homeland before quitting in disappointment that they weren't as good. I'm sure all of these shows could stand alone quite well, but in comparison, they were just 2nd rate. So after the Bureau, it's probably better to just do a genre shift imo.

Believe there are two follow up seasons Deutschland 86 and 89

I watched 2 episodes last night and I like it. Being a child of the 80's the music is *chef's kiss*

What I thought I would see (and maybe it's coming) is the main character realizing that the posturing on both sides was largely just political dickswinging and bullshit. I do think it's interesting seeing him experience "Western things" for the first time...like food, culture, etc.

yes! the music in that show really is great! i also love how completely haphazard the whole east german spy operation is. like the poor kid is so unprepared lol

WandaVision is...different.

Not sure what's going on, but apparently Wanda and Vision are trapped in 60s sitcom world and they don't remember why or where they came from.

For people above 50 and/or people, who like CYE, "Pretend It's a City" on Netflix starring Fran Lebowitz could be very interesting :-)
