It did just get an additional 5 ep order. So, at least we'll get 18.

I expected it to be cancelled in round 1 or 2 actually.

No doubt it will run the whole season (through as many as they ordered), but just don't expect more.

I figured 13 tops, so I'm glad to even get those.

It's NBC right, with half decent reviews it should scrape through IMO

No DVR bump, no awards potential to pile up on what that last guy said.

I just watched the 1st episode. Production values were great but Jesus it was so bleak. Small town Maine in the 70s and everybody's desperately unhappy. Frances McDormand and Richard Jenkins play the main characters, both obv. kill it.

2nd episode was a little brighter and continued the stories from different angles years later, very interesting!

Only 4 episodes, I'm done. Excellent and highly recommended, lots of family stuff and old people tho. Even old Bill Murray.

You knew Shane's was gonna be a disaster b/c the dude isn't funny and his comedy is so forced and offensive you'll pine for crappy STV National Lampoon movies, but I think the worst part personally is that people are gonna look at that and praise Anna's movie - which is one of the most boring pieces of crap I've watched in years. No entertainment value whatsoever. The "comedy" is so subtle you'll probably miss it, the 2 main females look like twins so you find youeself wondering who is who the whole time and it's just so damn indy. It's melodramatic, clearly female driven crap, that sometimes talks explicitly about sex out of left field. feels completely tonally wrong. Hated both.

If someone put a gun to my head and forced me to vote, I'd just vote for Shane, b/c at the very least i thought the main actress was decent. I can actually remember some of the garbage in his movie where as I watched "Hollidaysburg" (horrible name despite it being a city) last week and can't recall a damn thing about it. but man, i would never vote for either of these movies.
Giving this show a shot since the AVClub had a review of it, and said that it went beyond just the process of them filming it, then having a winner picked. It actually goes to the next stage, which leads to a season-highlight scene where Quinto goes off on Shane's movie.

I doubt I'll watch the actual movies themselves, but I do want to see the process from what I've heard about Shane.

But it's really damn good. And I say that as someone who is sick to death of cringe-comedy. There have been quite a few scenes that I had trouble making through, though the upcoming payoff (from the finale) REALLY makes me want to hurry up and get there.

And, my opinion of Kudrow was wrong. This woman can freaking tear it up when she has the material!!

So, The Comeback has made a comeback?

The last episode of season 1 aired in September of 2005.

Season 2 premiered tonight on HBO.

Franklin & Bash was cancelled. I never liked it anyway.
Graceland was renewed for Season 3.

I loved F&B, and there are several other people on the board who did, as well. Its last season wasn't that great, but it was uniformly good throughout its run before that (the show should have been a pure disaster based on premise, but it was dozens of times better than Suits for most of its run). It was really obvious it was getting canceled based on the last episode.

Bash had great chemistry between the leads. They were obv having hella fun and if they're not actually great friends off the set I'd be shocked.

Malcolm McDowell's position on the show similar to Spader's on The Blacklist. Show up, do whatever the **** he wants, chew scenery, go home.

Great fun, complete popcorn with very little resemblance to reality (the Vegas episode particularly egregious though I'm pretty sure writer's were leveling given the name of the "illegal system" they were charged with using). Should have been a complete trainwreck but always highly amusing.

Ending pay off to the "prediction" was legit great. Spader analogy was great. That's exactly what MacDowell was doing. What makes it an even better analogy is that both of them had a tendency to go off on tangents when asked questions that had nothing to do with the question asked.

Yeah I definitely watched the first two seasons as one of my popcorn shows, but I didn't watch it this season...I'll probably catch up on it and pour one out for the fallen homies.

I watched up to the point they got rid of all the co stars before the start of this season (presumably in a desperate cost cutting move to try and save it).

It was kind of a garbage show but it was weirdly entertaining.

That was in between the third and fourth seasons. We had no warning (other than Silicon Valley being a success) that either wouldn't be there.

I kept watching half not knowing WTF was going on like I missed something and kept wondering where it was going or some climaxing moment that would tie everything together which never came to fruition but couldn't take my eyes off the TV.
