Spoiler:
What f'n planet are you on??? From the first episode of the series, Vic and his team are portrayed as loose-cannon vigilantes who don't give a *** about the law, and most of the rest are shown as either corrupt, on a personal ego trip or extremely conflicted.

Lolol, you totally misunderstood The Shield if you thought the Strike Team were portrayed as the heroes. They were the antagonists of the show, Dutch and Claudette were the heroes. This was clear from the first episode right through to the very last episode.

Never thought of any Shield character as a hero tbh.

Dutch kinda is, isn't he? Depends when in the series (can't spoil obv) but I think he sort of is.

Dutch was too lame to be a hero imo...

Plus he kind of lost any ability to be a hero when he

strangled that cat
. Basically The Shield was just full of flawed characters. I never truly saw anyone I was rooting for, which is one reason why I don't rate the show as highly as others

You must really be down on Breaking Bad then.

Anyway, if anyone hasnt tried it then go watch Newsreaders. I heard about it somewhere a couple days ago, I have zero clue where, and absolutely loved it.

After 4 episodes, I'm getting a little impatient with The Affair.

There are some interesting theories out there about what's going on wrt the detectives questioning. I still like the show and think there is some good **** to come involving the boss, Cole and his brothers and Alison who just seems like hell on wheels.

Oh and she is pretty ****ing hawt. Moar boobs tho

first 3 episodes were solid , 4th one was a bit boring.
filthyvermin opinion is another good reason to have high expectation on that show

except for the fact they were going to make him a serial killer with bodies under his house, probably good thing they changed their mind.

exactly what I thought. There was progress there in episode 3, somebody dying. Episode 4 was all teasing.

If anyone is waiting on recommendations before watching either Benched or Marry Me here is one. Both shows are really good.

Marry Me is the better of the two imo, but then I loved Happy Endings and MM is very much its successor with the same showrunner and starring his wife Casey Wilson. It also stars Ken Marino who is somehow unknown to many despite being amazing in Burning Love and Childrens Hospital. If you loved HE you will love MM.

Benched meanwhile is building up nicely, its definitely got the better cast with the excellent Eliza Coupe (Happy Endings), Jay Harrington (Better Off Ted) and Maria Bamford (one of the funniest standups performing right now). The joke writing isnt as tight but the cast is doing a lot with the material and it is actually building up the characters well.

Anyone catch "Friends Of The People"? It's a sketch show on TruTV that had their 2nd ep last night. I never heard of them or the channel till last week, but they're not bad. Their "Street Sketches" have been pretty good, and the regular sketches have their moments.

TruTV is like a "law" channel or something that shows NCAA basketball games during the NCAA tournament. They've always had clever marketing for shows I've never had any interest in watching. They're trying to be edgy, but you might be the only one who will ever find out if it's working.

Only for this show, and who knows how long it will last. It's decent, but will get old fast as most sketch shows do.

Is it something related to law or court or anything?

Not at all. It's very similar to the Birthday Boys on IFC. Good sized ensemble doing sketch comedy. Multi-ethnic, so they touch on that a bit.

Their "Gentrify Hip-Hop/bring hipsters to Brooklyn cause it's too dangerous" is really funny.

Watching "The Passing Bells", a WWI drama mini-series on BBC. It's super tilting to have all of the German characters speaking with British accents. And the Polish nurse sounds American.

30 minute episodes keep the story moving along. Like it enough to watch the rest.

I actually like Marry Me more than Selfie. Marry Me has been a bit uneven to me, but the last episode totally felt like a Happy Endings episode. Basically everyone is a horribly selfish character with their own quirks, and I liked it a lot.

Just watched "Play it again, Dick". The Veronica Mars 'spinoff'. If you were a big Veronica Mars fan, you'll get some good laughs. Only 8 Episodes, at 8 minutes each or so.

In the long run, I know Marry Me will be my favorite. I like the cast/crew more in MM, but I like what Selfie is doing more at the moment. Once MM finds it's footing, it'll be pretty amazing.

Just preparing you that Marry Me is looking very bad for renewal. It has terrible L+SD ratings, and it probably has very little bump in L+7 (only the premiere week DVR ratings are available, so far, and they were bad). Both those signs are b...a...d...
