You knew Shane's was gonna be a disaster b/c the dude isn't funny and his comedy is so forced and offensive you'll pine for crappy STV National Lampoon movies, but I think the worst part personally is that people are gonna look at that and praise Anna's movie - which is one of the most boring pieces of crap I've watched in years. No entertainment value whatsoever. The "comedy" is so subtle you'll probably miss it, the 2 main females look like twins so you find youeself wondering who is who the whole time and it's just so damn indy. It's melodramatic, clearly female driven crap, that sometimes talks explicitly about sex out of left field. feels completely tonally wrong. Hated both.

If someone put a gun to my head and forced me to vote, I'd just vote for Shane, b/c at the very least i thought the main actress was decent. I can actually remember some of the garbage in his movie where as I watched "Hollidaysburg" (horrible name despite it being a city) last week and can't recall a damn thing about it. but man, i would never vote for either of these movies.
I watched the entire season of The Chair and it was just ok. Not nearly as interesting as I thought it would be. Anna looked miserable to work with and Shane seemed like a dick who thought he was amazing.

Shane's movie was clearly going to be terrible and Anna's, while probably the "better" film, looked like it would boring as hell. I tried to watch Not Cool today, as I figured there would be a better chance I'd get at least some entertainment out of it, but I couldn't make it through 10 minutes. As soon as I got to the first time we see Shane in drag, I turned it off.

The homeless guy in the train station (the **** eater) was funny as hell, though. I could watch that actor all day. His delivery was perfect.

I thought it was WAY better then okay, but not for the reason they probably wanted. The "making of" portion was cool for the most part, and I really liked their crews.

But I watched mostly because I wanted to see Shane's movie fail, and for him to fail. I know that's kind of messed up, but Zachary Quinto was right. The fact that $850k was given to him to make a movie is offensive as hell to anyone else who does this for a living and especially to people trying to break in.

What he did on youtube with building his own brand is certainly commendable. And it was an interesting idea for him to be a contestant, but I think the reason he was chosen was just because the producers of The Chair wanted to milk his fan base. But there are plenty of youtubers who could've proven capable of making a really good movie.

That movie "Overnight" was pretty close to what I was hoping to have happen with his movie, and eventually his career. He had a chance to fix that or at least some sort of respect, but he did everything in his power to do the exact opposite.

I went in knowing who won, hearing that Zachary wanted his name off, but that was about it. I also knew I would't bother to watch either movie.

Kind of sucks F&B got cancelled it was a good entertaining show, the past season I wasn't as into it since they got rid of the 2 co-stars and it became more background noise while I played whith my baby.

Eugh it's the worst.

They've really got this 'you know where the series is going but we're going to take 15 more episodes to get there' thing down to an art.

Agree. Although I like it it clearly took a lot of cues from TD. I'm assuming if will be a reboot with an affair and investigation but this time in a new beach town...lol

I'm kinda liking these The Nanny reruns latenight on TVLand, God help me. It's deliciously close to being a parody of a sitcom, but in a smarter way than Married With Children.

The Nanny was great when it originally aired, so I'm not surprised it holds up relatively well today.

Seemed like for the first few seasons she was trying really hard not to show too much skin, but that recent bikini shot...

Westworld was a great old movie. You'd think they could think up some new ideas now and then.

Couldn't be happier to see Jonathan Nolan's incredible storytelling and universe building being rewarded by getting a gig with HBO. He might need it, since the ratings aren't looking too great right now for Person of Interest.

Was going to wait until the finale to catch up on The Affair, but decided to watch it now (post 2889, and don't want to get spoiled) and this is a great show. 3eps deep and will probably be caught up by tomorrow. I am impressed.

And also confused. I thought it was Michelle Monaghan the entire time and that she aged a lot after doing True Detective. When I realized it wasn't, Ruth Wilson got a bit hotter. Not Monaghan hot, but hot on her own.

Hmm, I think westworld is the perfect choice for "old movie turned into new TV show". Hopefully they nail the formula right.

Phill, with Jonathan Nolan behind it, I think you should feel very confident that this will turn out close to the way you hope it will. He has an extremely good track record with a show you already love.

dunno if anyone mentioned it and i just missed it, but just started watching "olive kitteridge" on HBO.

its a mini-series with frances mcdormand and richard jenkins based on a pultizer prize winning book.

i've only watched 2 episodes (their are 4 total) but really enjoying it so far.

frances and richard absolutely kill it, and peter mullan is fantastic as well.

Yeah, I think the biggest worry is making something decent that I enjoy which no one watches and it gets cancelled. I realise this is hbo but they need to factor viewers into decisions too sooner or later.

Since it's a high concept idea, it's pretty likely that HBO is going to give it a long leash. There's probably about a 50/50 chance Person of Interest gets canceled this year, as well, which would leave him a lot of time to focus solely on that show next year (people like him tend to multi-task well, so that's probably not a concern).

Spoiler:
Did you really know the Lockharts were drug dealers in episode 2 or 3? I'll admit I didn't.
