I don't get this at all. why!?!?!

I kinda forgot about this show, got into some others. Then I remembered how awesome it was.

It's like an old girlfriend that was clearly the best, finally got over her, and then someone mentioned her name and that she was moving back in town in a year and it brought it all back.

Now I'm depressed.

I absolutely do, but there's no way I could do it.

Just finished all three seasons in about a week. Now what do I do?
04-04-2011 , 09:22 AM
Buy an RV.

Not always but I occasionally do this for HBO/AMC style shows that run a short season. I did it for season 3 of SOA and I'll do it for Breaking Bad.

The "why!?!?!" should be obvious.

yeah, i take it you just want to mental mind**** yourself. it's actually not that obvious at all.

There's a huge difference between watching an entire season on something you're real late or somehow early on. but to deny yourself it for months so you can watch it all marathon style is just weird, imo

i'd rather watch it at the regular intervals and ponder it for a week, then i'm ready to fully focus on the next show.

We waited until the DVD's come out to watch all seasons of 24. I wouldn't do the same for Breaking Bad.

well, weve waited for a ~year so waiting 2 more months doesnt bother me as much as waiting a week between every ep 13 times will. thats so tilting, heh
04-04-2011 , 07:38 PM
i dont get why its tilting, its not like Breaking Bad has cliffhangers at the end of every ep. Personally i much prefer having something to watch over 13 weeks and discussing the show and where it might be going after every ep rather than watching it over a couple of days and then that being it for another year.

Let's do a top scenes of Breaking Bad list...off the top of my head in no order

1) "Run"
2) Hank/Walt/Walt Jr tequila scene
3) IFT
4) Jesse losing it after trying to start the RV and saying "why didn't I just go to Santa Fe"
5) PI explaining to Walt why half measures are inferior to full measures
6) "This is my territory imo"
7) Walt about to pass out/spill the beans about Jesse's dead GF in "Fly"
8) "I'm going to assume this is a negotiating tactic"
9) One minute
10) "This is my own private domicile....BITCH!"

Good list -- you left out killing the dude in the basement after Walt discovered that there was a shard of ceramic missing from the broken plate.

Also, exploding turtle.

Also, the family meeting scene: talking pillow.
04-05-2011 , 01:05 AM
Exploding turtle has got to be top three at least.

Both of these should be in the top five. I don't really think you can count IFT as a scene, can you? It's basically just those three words plus Walt's reaction...which was all great, I just wouldn't rank it over Walt being "forced" to strangle Crazy 8 or Mike talking about half/full measures.

Ohhh, talking pillow is definitely better than a few on my list. One of the most touching scenes in the series. Also Marie's hospital silverware rant/ Walt's "I survived this hospital" speech scene is better than a few on my original list. Both scenes really highlight Marie who I hope has a bigger role in the series in the future (and she will imo).

Walt's plate shard discovery is certainly up there, although I don't know about exploding turtle. It's a good scene but not great imo.

A few other great scenes I just thought of were the 30 yo Walt/Gretchen scene and Walt/Skyler buying their "starter" house. Really showed who Walt was and illustrated the disappointment that he became.

Oh no it is definitely a scene. Skyler pulling into the driveway, Walt fully emasculated before she says a word -- in an apron, cooking a pot roast, hoping it's OK he invited Jr's friend to stay for dinner -- then her obviously deliberate and premeditated bombshell and his reaction. The whole scene is like two minutes long or so.
04-05-2011 , 01:45 AM
The pizza toss is amazing, but I'm not sure where it would rank. Same with the kid circling Combo before he shoots him.
04-05-2011 , 01:48 AM
Another of my favorites is Walt holding Holly in the garage, showing her the money hidden behind the insulation, going "I did this all for you."

Agreed, I just don't think the three words (even in combination with them setting it up so well) is enough to be top three, but that's JMO.

Both of these are great, and "fulminated mercury" is at least a contender, too.
04-05-2011 , 01:57 AM
Yeah fulminated mercury is one I thought of but didn't remember to add (beer drinking). Walt's reaction in the car once he pulls it off is incredible. A mixture of triumph, horror at the danger he put himself in and perhaps anger that the danger didn't culminate in his death.

Also my list was in no order IFT for sure is not top three scenes.
04-05-2011 , 01:57 AM
badger and the undercover cop probably shouldn't be in a top 10 list but it's one of the funniest scenes. and it's not the same scene but the part later when the cop is grilling badger and he says "i feel manipulated. i thought we were gonna hang out" just kills me every time i watch it.

glad to see i'm not the only person that thinks exploding turtle is overrated. it's too over the top.

Oh, and "Duke City Flower! Come on! Can't you at least be original?"

ahahahahahaha funniest foreshadowing I've seen in the show so far:

Skyler luring Ted into her office late at night by shoving something off her desk and saying "oh, damn, ah clumsy...no no Ted you don't have to do that" as he picks her pencils up...cut to Walt drilling in a wood screw on his home repair project.

Top 10 moments in Breaking Bad is hard since there's so many and everyone connects with them in a different way.
