Did anyone notice what looked to be a flying teddy bear in the picture that Jane drew on her wall?

good post PJ.

Although in a soft defense of BB it was kind of trying to drive a point home or w/e... not just a random event. Nevertheless I agree wholeheartedly with your entire post

i surprised at everyone giving out about the unexpected ending, it's not like that was the first time they've used flash forwards that turned out to have an unexpected ending.

also the same goes for the realism, there's been a bunch of things that have occurred that have been really unrealistic, it's not like it's been the wire up until now. stop being such nits.

Now to some people like the previous poster <pocket trips> I think almost everything is a level to him/her. If this shows message is financial planning like poc-trips thinks, or an action show about the meth trade, then I think it fails. I really think there is more to the show than Meth is bad but look how exciting it is or what to do if you neglect buying a life insurance policy and don't have a good health plan. It obviously begs the age old ethical question, can an ethical person do something evil under certain qualifiers. A good example would be a father stealing medicine for their child that they can't afford, or a Priest killing Hitler in 1939.

FWIW, it is possible http://aviation-safety.net/database/...?id=19950501-0. This happened near where I grew up.

However, given jetliners (title of that episode 737) were involved and not tiny regional turbo-props, it's effectively impossible for what happened in the show to happen. Oh well.

Admittedly I'm a nit, but this was pretty far from "fine" imo.

It made me feel like I just walked in on my dad dancing around, in my mom's bra and panties, to "Like a Virgin". Sure, he's still going to be my dad, but this kinda drives a pretty big wedge in that wasn't there before.

Apparently the events of the season finale aren't quite as improbable as some of us may have thought:

From that blog post a bit earlier on:

Quote:
Some people said they spotted the teddy bear at the abandoned motel where Walt does the deal with Gus's people.

People have got amazing eyes. That's why I'm surprised nobody figured out the plane crash thing. I'm told the teddy bear was in one shot there. I think the writer and director of the episode took it upon themselves to tuck it into a corner, in a "Where's Waldo?" way.
Legit are you ****ing kidding me moment after reading all his bull**** about how the titles are connected, and Lucifer ex machina, and you are "told" it was in one scene? **** you. This show is completely ruined for me after that bull**** ending.
07-01-2009 , 12:04 PM
Bakes, as dorky and far removed from the show's previous badassery the finale was, I don't think you should write it off. I'm still def looking forward to next season as I'm sure they'll take into account what seems to be the consensus feedback.

Walter White is the best acted character on TV right now

i just finished watching both seasons of BB in 2 days and i just have one question to ask all of you.

lets pretend that you have a hot GF, like smoking hot.
and every single week she takes you upstairs and gives you the best sex you've had since the wire was on.
just AMAZING sex, week in and week out.

then one week, sex is amazing as usual but right at the end she sticks her finger up your ass EVEN THOUGH SHE KNOWS ITS PROLLY GOING TO PISS YOU OFF, what do you do

A) bitch and moan for ****ing 5 pages about how awful the ending of the very last sexing you got was

or B ) be ****ING GRATEFUL you got 20 ****ing sessions of the best sex you've had since the wire, forgive that fact she tried one stupid move that didn't please you, and wait eagerly for the next time you get to **** this chick since odds are its going to go back to being the best ****ing sex you could possibly hope to get?

rbk,

While I did not come up with the same analogy as you, that is generally my thoughts. Awesome show and only one major disappointment.

rbk,

Amazing post.

Good analogy rbk, except for one thing.

She didn't stick her finger up my ass. She strapped on a big black dildo, bent me over and proceeded to ravage my ass until I bled.

That being said I'll still forgive her and try again.

Disagree, I really did not like the ending.
08-02-2009 , 01:22 PM
That analogy is awful. Where can I find your blog so I can print it out and wipe my ass with it?

TV show homers are the worst homers of them all, they are even worse than sports homers.

I watched the entire series in about 3 days a few months back and I'm in the process of rewatching it now. I've seen every episode of probably 50 tv series, both comedy and drama, and with the exception of Arrested Development, this is the most perfect show I've ever seen.

After going 20 for 21 on mindblowing episodes, how can you all lose faith in the writing staff so quickly? I suspect the season 3 premiere will explain the end of season 2 beautifully and continue where we left off.
08-02-2009 , 01:41 PM
It wasn't just one episode though, that one episode was the culmination of a season building up to that point.

It was really awful writing. Shockingly bad for a show of this quality. Sorry that bothers you all to hear but it is a fact, ignoring it won't make it good writing.

You should be mad because the viewers of this show are supposed to be too smart for silly plot devices like this. But it seems that many of you are as stupid as they thought you were.

So the modified analogy would be that she screws you but gets better and better, constantly hinting at a magical mystery prize at the end of the line, only to surprise you with a finger up the ass? I'd still forgive her.

He tried something and it failed spectacularly. If you're going to fail, fail big. I'm thinking the fan backlash against the denouement has taught Gilligan to not get too Shakespearean about his show. There's way too much greatness in the series to get so pissed off at the climax. Also, you say it's a buildup, but the buildup was limited to 15 second foreshadowing prologues. Anything in the story arc, leading up to the finale, that involved the crash was tied into the plot in other ways that were very well done (basically Q and his daughter). It's not like a gaggle of events in the previous 20 episodes lead up to and hinged on the plane crash.

Sounds like someone needs to watch The Wire.

Arrested Development is a better drama than The Wire. What do you guys think about The Wire as compared to 24???
