LOL Dan, although it appears I am indeed escrowing I need to go over it with Exit since I have paid ZERO Attention as to who owes what up until this point. If I am not mistaken some people are already paid for next year etc.

Will wait to here the deal.

If i'm not mistaken everyone's current balance is $0. I slacked last year and didn't collect a year in advance - and i returned anyone's that i had collected. Although if anyone disputes that please lmk and i can triple check.

Still waiting to hear from either TheDuke or NDFan (guy who PM'd me saying he was interested) - first one to respond back to me gets the spot.

And finally i PROMISE to do the spreadsheet this weekend, finally have some free time.

And are we supposed to be paying for 2014 and 2015 now? Not a huge deal but just curious.

that's up for discussion imo, but yes that is the current rule. we initially paid two years and then a year at a time to keep a a balance of $200 to incentivize owners to not abandon teams, but i'm not sure that's necessary.

Meh no strong feelings either way.

Digging thru the rosters, can someone screenshot the final standings for 2013? Not roto point obviously but the raw stats. Appreciate it

Spreadsheet updated. Relevant tabs are:
2014 Rookie Draft - shows order of the draft with trades accounted for - note just because your team is listed in rounds 6-8 doesnt mean you have picks there, that will depend on how many minor leaguers you end up keeping.

2014 Off Season - which show upcoming years and salaries of players, Active/Minors Roster counts, and Projected Salaries (counting money that was traded for 2014).

Notes as reminders: You'll need to trim Active Roster down to maximum of 30 players and $1000, less if you want space to add anyone via Free Agency.. and everyone gets 5 picks in the rookie draft, but if you have less than 5 minor leaguers, you get extra draft picks to get you up to 10.

edit:

Obviously please let me know if you notice any errors in the draft order, or any minor leaguers of yours that have more than 20 games pitched, 50 innings pitched or 130 atbats that I overlooked/forgot to promote.

I'm going to randomize the new owners now so alekhine can get started thinking about his team. Gonna just go to random.org, i don't feel like figuring a way to record it so please just trust that i don't give a **** who gets what team.

Results are:

alekhine is the new owner of Primetime
otherguy will own Coff

adjusting sheet now to show new names.

The following are in danger of being cut, and could probably be had relatively cheaply.

Albert Pujols ($236/yr 4)
CC Sabathia ($105/yr 5)
Jimmy Rollins ($88/yr 3)

also need to cull some cheap guys because I have too many people on my roster. Guys like Aviles, Pierzynski, Ibanez, Dyson, maybe Erasmo and Montero could all be available. All are less than $10.

Things I'd like are backups at 2B/SS, picks/prospects, and any other general upgrades.

If you want anyone else, feel free to make me an offer. Everyone except for Trout has a price.

I'm going to need to cull some guys too. I have a lot of cheap decent guys but need to make some room. Looking for pitching

Exit - thanks for updating all that stuff.

Quick rules question - guys who are on the rookie pay scale can go to a sixth year for $50, right?

I need um.. better players so PM me.

I'm going to be extremely busy at work during the offseason, so I'll continue have very little 2p2 time.

I plan on digging into some of the discussions people have been having about player salaries, etc. in the future, I think that's worth re-visiting since the big five year expiration period for contracts kicks in after this year.

***********
Just in case any new guys missed it, here are the league rules again.

***********

Sorry if it's been posted before, but do we have a relatively set offseason schedule? I can't check in a lot, so it would be helpful to know when to make time to do so.

If anyone wants to make a run at the title this year, I'm looking to shake up my team and acquire prospects.

Players on the Block

Player, position, 2014 salary, contract year

Miguel Cabrera, 3B/1B, $130, 5
Felix Hernandez, SP, $120, 5
Curtis Granderson, OF, $86, 5
Matt Cain, SP, $67, 5
Elvis Andrus, SS, $41, 5
Jed Lowrie, SS, $32, 3
Justin Masterson, SP, $6, 4
Chris Iannetta, C, $4, 1
John Jaso, C, $6, 2
Matt Moore, SP, $4, 3

This isn't a fire sale, so it will take a fair return to get some of these guys, of course. Kipnis, Donaldson, and Freeman are unavailable. Please PM any offers if interested. I'm not looking for any particular position, just the best available talent.

Haha. Yea, assuming the price is going to be high for all the last year guys now, but come trading deadline, I think there could be some fireworks

I am a fan of having two years of league fees in escrow at any time.
MLB: 2+2 (small stakes) Dynasty Fantasy Baseball League Interest/Discussion thread Quote

Well I'll throw Cargo in the mix as being available as well. Possibly Posey as well.

Also as for escrow, I'll do two but question if it's really necessary. I don't really want people to stay in just because they feel like they have to because they have $100 invested in it for the next yr. But not a big deal either way.

having the extra year doesn't lock them in to staying - it would get refunded assuming the announcement was made in enough time to find a replacement easily. it's more as a safeguard for an owner just disappearing - that way we have option of selling the abandoned team at a discount to get someone interested last minute.

and to answer your earlier question, yes 6th year rookies can be kept for $50. Standard FA's are 5 year contracts.

If I am ever going to be able to call up any of my prospects, I need to trade some guys. Can move cheaper players like Alonso, mesorsaco, etc. ideally looking for younger pitching with similar length on contract
