Yes they have a lobster night as well as a crab night. Think the quality for lobster is good but heard the wait is insane. I think it’s something like you show up like two two hours before it opens. Wait an hour to make a reservation for the lobster line queue. Hang out at the casino for an hour to get into the buffet. Wait around at the buffet until it’s your turn to queue for lobster. It’s then another 45 minute wait in the lobster line. Doesn’t seem worth it. It’s $65.

I don't think ANY of these eatery's that actually get better with time... at least that I have found.

No, it is definitely not better.

When it first opened, I found it to be one of my favorites for it's unique offerings, in these days it's gotten more formulaic and ho hum.

I used to prefer Wicked Spoon to Bacchanal.

food priority should never be worthy of a two hour wait

there used to be a spot on grand on the les that had awesome pastrami too but the owner passed away and katz was just #1 always

had the chorizo skillet at casa de desayunos new location on charles and bruce (across from tacos el gordo) ,it was solid but still prefer the chilaquiles

God this thread is incredible. I am new in town and will be starting on page one. If there is a master list, cliffs, or any sort of run-down of can't miss joints I would love to see it.

I've been to Yukon a couple more times, and it's solidified it's status atop mount pizza.

What kinda food you like? What was lacking in your old town?

Different Mexican stuff:

If you've never had birria, or even if you have, try it at Los arcos.

El Birotazo for Tortas Ahogads.

if you gotta eat buffalo wings on the strip , i think public house is the best from the spots on south strip.

My old town closed up shop around 8pm. Late night stuff is an insane luxory to me. Although lately I've been sleeping early...

I'm living near the convention center...

I love huge delicious salads that can last me a day or more. I'm trying to lose 50lbs, salads are often all I eat.

Asian Cuisine is . Thai, Sushi, Japanese, Chinese, Korean!!! Those are bomb.

Love Mexican, pasta, pizza, burgers, affordable steaks, diners, and mostly anything that is high quality. Not including seafood besides for salmon.

So far I've visited Awesome Thai a handful of times (pretty good), Weera (pretty good), Yama Sushi (just okay), Sid's Diner (@ Westgate, excellent), Tacos El Gordo (not great), Al Pastor (pretty good). Really looking forward to trying Yukon Pizza - big fan of how they do it in New Haven.

Thx for responding. And to everyone else: I wish you all happy days in Las Vegas!

Just one man’s opinion…

The best Thai place in Vegas is Lotus of Siam. They have the original location, which is regarded as slightly better, than the new location that opened in Red Rock. They specialize in Northern Thai cuisine. I like the dishes with duck, can’t always find those. The garlic prawns are well regarded.

The best Chinese place in Vegas is Ping Pang Pong, which is in the Gold Coast casino. They’re the best at dim sum, which is picking a certain kind of dumpling to share with your table while you drink tea. You’ll see lots of Asians there early when they open for lunch. I’m not adventurous enough to order off the “live seafood” section of the menu, lol.

The best Korean barbecue place in Vegas is called Hobak, in Chinatown. The smell that hits you in the face right when you walk in is unforgettable. The way to do it right is have a group of 2, 3, or 4 people, and get the meal for your group size. We did dinner for two, it was like $90 total. We got a spread of salads and appetizers, 4 different meats portion sized and grilled in front of you, and dessert for that.

It’s really too bad I don’t like sushi. I don’t know anything about the Vegas sushi scene, but there are lots of options… from fine dining to great value all you can eat places. I’ll let others elaborate.

I like Lamaii more than Lotus of Siam. Cheaper, easier to get into. Last time I went to Lotus they were out of a lot, it wasn’t THAT good and it was pricier than all hell, and this was at the Flamingo location. Worst time I had ever been to Lotus, but all times before were at old Sahara location.

Many good cheaper Thai options but like the elite Thai food would be at Lamaii and Lotus, but I prefer Lamaii.

As far as Chinese, I’m not sure if Shang’s counts as Chinese but that would be my choice, but it’s noodles and exquisite wontons, not Americanized Chinese. Also Xiao Long Dumplings and China Mama should definitely be tried as well.

I think the people who don’t like sushi have some silly mental block that they should address that prevents them from appreciating it, or perhaps legit seafood allergies in some cases.

Never tried lamaii. Primarily because I've never heard about it. But maybe this weekend with an Asian food fiend visiting.

I've taken at least 12 people to Weera and it's always a hit. Maybe you ordered one of their worst dishes. I like the panang curry and the papaya salad.

Inside Eureka, not far from the convention center, there is Fat Choy. A fun little dinner with Asian fusion. It's actually been at least a year since I've been, but this is one of my favorite burgers in town and it's pretty cheap.

I prefer Archi’s to Weera Thai, but Weera Thai is okay, not on same level as Lotus/Lamaii…Lamaii is the latest incarnation of Chada which was opened by a former Lotus chef.
