Got an e-mail a while back about my "offers". Went to their website and there was a calendar of dates that you could filter based on room type and venue name. Some dates showed "sold out" on the calendar while others said "offer", but many times if you clicked on one of those dates to make a booking, it would then say "offer not available". There's also no fast way to see the price they are offering, and no way that I can tell to determine if and when you have any full comps.
Are they just woefully incompetent or do they make this deliberately opaque to prevent people from getting good deals? It almost feels like they really just want to get you on the booking page so you book something, and that they have no interest in actually helping you find the best offer available to you.
How do you guys even know when you have genuine comp offers from Caesars?
I can’t compare it to other casino resort booking systems, but it’s been that way forever. The technology exists to allow a potential customer to know everything they need to know in order to make a booking decision, just like it exists to allow a loyalty card member to know everything about their loyalty activities. But for some reason they hide this information from people.
I don’t have a very good explanation for it, but if I had to guess, it would have something to do with the gaming industry in general. It is one of the few industries (alcohol is another, and maybe cannabis, now as well), where most customers have a physiological addiction to the product being sold. It basically means the vendor can make lots of mistakes and do things poorly and people will continue to come. If you look at the level of service being provided now, across the board, in the gaming industry and compare it to even just 10 years ago, you’ll see they seem to be less and less concerned about making a good impression on potential customers. But casinos continue to rake it in.
