If I am going to record my swing and want to play it back with some half decent ability to pause the frames and have a clear picture at any point in the swing, what kind of specs am a looking for in a digital camera or camcorder?

Thx

I just want to say that I am super peeved at golf at the moment.

We played the 'Captain's Game' where you add up the scores. So two pars on a Par 3 = 33 and you reverse scores if both are over par -- so a double bogey and a triple bogey would score 65 and Team 1 wins 32 points.

Play with 3 other good friends today. We alternate partners every 6 holes so everyone gets lined up with everyone for a portion of the round and you maintain your own point total. Two friends who are a 0 and 5 handicap are flat out chopping -- one of their worst rounds of the year.

Ends up that I finish second in normal stroke play by 7 and 10 shots versus two chopping friends, respectively -- yet I am the HUGE loser losing 70, 24, 18 points. Every partner chose to play their absolute worst while with me. Golf is rigged.

It's like golfing on PokerStars.

Played @ wildhorse in vegas for the first time today

Local muni course, nothing to write home about (other than it being $22 to play it.)

On the back there is a par3 that is 252 yards long. I am currently carrying a driver and 4iron and nothing in between (long story but I have a bad temper).

Anyhow keeping it short, with a 25mph tailwind behind and a slight elevation advantage, I hit a 4iron pin high to the right side of the green and just missed a 25 footer or so for birdie (easy par.)

I'd say it was the best shot i'd ever hit given the length for an iron. I usually hit a 4iron about 205 TOTAL, so it was a real treat to have the wind behind and swing for the fence and luck sack into a par on a tough hole.

I let my ncga index expire. The last number was something like 12.5, with lowest round 82. I've played 5 rounds on a course 126slope/ 72.7 rating at 83, 84, 84, 85, 84. What range would you put my index currently?

Nice little rattlesnake on the course today. On 2nd/3rd hole @ Boundary Oaks in Walnut Creek. I made about a 40ft birdie putt on #2 right after seeing this.

ha, nice shot. I've hit driver there a few times, usually left to the 15th tee.

Buyer beware.
Their PING sale was supposed to start this morning. It's been pushed to Wed I guess? Anyone actually receive any goods from this site?

It could be a relatively simple guerrilla marketed hoax where they go into random forums and pretend to be active members and then post about how amazing their site is. I haven't seen any google searches that show anyone actually receiving any product...just people saying "wow this place is great!"

I certainly haven't pulled the trigger on anything. I considered buying the Penta balls they had (2 dozen for $68), but by the time you added shipping it wasn't enough of a savings to justify the risk.

But what bonds posted is extremely relevant. I guess the way around it is that these guys aren't "authorized resellers" so don't have to worry about a manufacturer being pissed. But I don't know where the inventory comes from.

I've got about 10 dz. that I'd let go for my cost ($35 per dz.) + shipping.

There was some minor speculation on GolfWRX that they may be "connected" with Taylormade/Addidas, but that doesn't seem right to me - why would TMAG potentially mess with their relationship with their resellers by moving current product below market through a random internet startup? Why would any major OEM company?

Curious.

Interestingly, I just updated my search on GolfWRX and it doesn't show any new posts in almost a week that mention the term 'kingdom59', no new posts in any of the threads. I know the forums were down over the weekend, but no activity this week?

The Scratch Golf twitter feed did retweet a launch announcement (featuring Scratch gear) from @k59golf. This was earlier in August.

The k59 twitter feed says the Ping sale starts tomorrow at 9 am ET.

Maybe it's legit, maybe it isn't. Personally, I think I'll pass.

I've been so happy with the improvements to my game this summer, but felt like my shorter irons/wedges should be about 10 yards longer. Now I come to find out my old Ping Eye 2s are lofted almost an entire club less than modern irons in the shorter club range (ie. 45* eye2 9i vs 45* x22 PW). Now I won't feel so insecure hitting my 9 when all my buddies are busting out their wedges. Still plan on playing the Eye 2s until I'm quite a bit better, though (about a 22 handicap atm).

Could you just put in S300's and put the 5iron shaft into the 6 iron head (and follow suit through the whole set) and cut them down a quarter of an inch or whatever?
MISC/RANDOM/BS Golf Chatter Thread Quote

depends on the club head, I assume you meant tipping as cutting from the butt end shouldn't affect stiffness.

Also I was just tossing the s400 out there, if it is in fact just heavier then sorry. I'd like to know the motives behind the s300 vs. x1000 question, chances are your reasoning isn't great for looking into another option.

Their next sale after the scheduled Ping sale is for the following:

“59” is a revolutionary movement in style, transforming the belt buckle into a statement about you. “59” buckles symbolize for those who wear them a uniqueness and revolutionary attitude. Innovative designs break with the past. "59" is not only reforming belt fashion...they are transforming it.

The Revolution is at Hand, a new approach to design and to life. Embrace the future and strive for perfection. 59 belts are different. Make your own revolution in fashion with “59” Belts.

Seriously? Maybe they take losses on the clubs they sell and think they'll make up for those losses and then some by selling their own line of apparel? If it's actually their own and not just a gimmicky "hey we're 59 too!" thing.

Sorry I keep bringing it up. I'm just trying to figure it out.

Hello all, I have permission from the golf forum mod to post this.

I decided that in order to build a better community in the golf forum, we needed to have a thread that was updated monthly. This is better than the old general chatter thread because it will be up to date and users won't have to wade through thousands of outdated posts. This should also build a better golf community and give a little buzz to the golf forum.

Anything about life or golf in general can go in this thread.

All 2+2 rules apply!

Enjoy
