Swing gurus, care to offer any advice for me to work on as the offseason approaches in the PNW?

I have always had a bit of a flippy action post impact that I think is my main swing flaw, though there are of course others. I wish I had a face-on view as well to illustrate it better, but it should be kind of apparent in these DTL videos.

Is this as big of an issue as I think it is? Anything else noticeable?

Here is a cut hybrid dtl:

Here is an 8i DTL (sort of) I am aiming at the green in line with my shorts, so the angle is a bit off (camera set too far right) which makes me look more shut/across the line that I am.

I am pretty pleased with everything up to impact. I sometimes get too inside on my takeaway and get across the line resulting in a hook miss, so I've been working on getting it started more out and up, but still have a ways to go. Post-impact seems to be my issue, not following through down the line as much as most top tier players. Any particular drills or am I way off base here? Thanks.

I'm sure others will chime in on specifics but who cares what it looks like after you hit the ball. It's already gone. I see a lot of good in that swing though, probably just need some small tweaks. What's your handicap?

Yeah the after contact doesn't matter much, especially if you are artificially trying to make your finish look like a pros or something. Decent swing will cause your body to naturally go into a decent position but if you are just trying to get there without a good swing you are wasting your time

I've been between a 2-5 for the last few years, realize I'll never get to scratch or better without more consistent ball striking, and figure that's been my biggest swing flaw, but I'm not sure.

I've never had a lesson before, so I've never really got concrete, sound advice or feedback on my current swing. I'm just speculating, I could have more important things to work on.

Yea, I see your point, but my concern is that "flippy" action is happening so close to impact that whenever it starts to occur too early my shot disparity is going to be awful. I think my margin of error is way too big around impact to ever get to scratch+

I've also never felt comfortable setting/cocking my wrists early in the backswing, I reach out a lot to start and set really late at the top.

You should track your strokes gained stats over several rounds and then you'll know exactly whether the issue is long game or short game. I'm too lazy to look for it but NXT has a link to his spreadsheet somewhere on here.

I actually try to cock my wrists on the way down, and it works fairly well.

I like your swing.

Ordered the Henrik Stenson curved wedge training aid today. Really hope it can help my poor wedge play, running out of ideas to improve that area of my game.

It might be a bit basic for someone whose around scratch but I watched video on wedge play on rotaryswing.com that in a matter of a few weeks has turned my wedges from being the worst part of my game to being probably the second best part. Of all the **** i've tried and practiced and gotten a minimal results boost from the whole summer it has felt amazing to have one thing reallly pan out.

Replace one round of golf every week with 5 hours of wedge practice

Sounds like torture plus I have no idea how to make 30min of wedge practice constructive let alone five hours.

Decided that with the Winter rates kicking in at the beginning of the month I just signed the papers to join my old country club again. Since it's the 40th year of the club initiation fee was $40 and you get $40 in charges free for the first year (cart fees, food, etc).

Monthly rate is $258. It's a Club Corp owned course and I can play at any of the 99 holes they have in the local area. Cart fees are $20. My club has 36. I got the additional Signature Gold for $50 a month. You get greatly reduced food and beverage along with 2 free meals per month at their clubs around the country. I travel 2x a month so it will come in handy.

The best course that they own is Firestone. Hope it's open when I am up there in the beginning of April.

Also, free range balls and use of practice facilities.

I hate memberships that have cart fees, really don't save you a ton of money in the long run, that said unlimited range and practice facilities make it worth the money

I haven't played in 2 or 3 weeks now and am really missing the game. Canada weather ftl.

Spotts or any other fellow canucks have any good suggestions for a quick getaway for a foursome? I'm thinking South Carolina in December or January for ~4 nights but not sure.

Any good winter spots?
