Got some sideview/backview vids of myself and a few friends hitting some tee shots today.

Would I get shunned if I posted all 4 swings and asked for feedback? I'm pretty sure you guys will puke when you see my swing, because I vomited a little in my own mouth.

There are a few in Houston in my area that offer it. There are even courses that offer unlimited range balls for a month for $40 if you can believe that. They are usually part of the Arnold Palmer Group and its called the Golfer Improvement Program or such.

haha

While I shoot good numbers... you'll be amazed with what I work with.

I'll post the vids once I get them. It should be interesting and I'll turn it into a little game of what the Golf community thinks are our common misses/etc. Could be great constructive analysis, especially since all four of our swings are drastically different from one another in terms of our lines/angles

I just started playing about 6 weeks ago and I am hooked(sorry I waited until 42 to learn this game). I went to the driving range recently and brought my 11-year old son with me. He wanted to hit some balls so I rented him a jr. driver and he started knocking the crap out of the ball. He's a little guy, but he was hitting them pretty straight and about 120 yards. This was only with very little coaching from me (I just started playing and do not really know much yet) Now he is really liking the game and bugging me to take him out to a course. Any advice on next steps for this budding junior golfer? I was thinking of taking him to a local 9 hole course and letting him hit from the red tees.

Taking him the 9 hole course sounds like a great idea. Also, you could look around and see if there are any ranges or courses that offer clinics geared towards juniors. Junior clinics are really good for getting kids started in the right direction; especially the little things like golf course etiquette.

BTW, if anyone is from the Indi area, lmk.

The local 9 hole course is a good idea.

Or go to any non upscale course and let him play. But keep in mind that pace of play is important. So doing something like the following will work.

When I started playing my dad would let me tee off from the red tees and if I didnt get it inside the 150 yard marker I would pick up my ball and tee up at the 150 yard marker.

This sounds like it would work for your son as well.

Oh and have fun.

This is a fantastic idea. The way I play, I need to tee up at the 150 yd marker sometimes too. Thanks!

I thank your Dad for being such a cool parent who also was considerate enough to not have you hold up the entire course and other people's round.

Now if only husbands with studious wives would do the same...

my wife tees off and if we arent waiting for the group in front of us, she then plays in from level with my drive; if we are going to be standing and waiting she hits until she is forced to wait.

works good

Does anyone have any input on the Cleveland CG15 SW?

I've been told some contradicting theories of whether it is legal or not (due to it's excessive grooves). I mean, I'm not going on the tour anytime soon, but I'd like to know.

I've been reading mixed reviews; some saying it's going to be illegal 14 years after you buy it and others saying it's illegal right now.

The new groove rules are in effect today for professional and some high level amateur tours. If you plan on playing in any USGA major event (like US Am qualifying) then you wouldn't be able to use those wedges.

Other then that you are good for like another dozen years or something. Same rules go into effect for all players in 2014ish I think.

One thing to note is that manufactures can't make non conforming wedges anymore.

best weather condition I've ever played

I don'n know how I didn't break 95..
but I know how I broke this one:

WHO PUTS THE ****IN TREES ON THE GOLF COURSE?

ok so now we have a problem. Tourney on Saturday and I'm without my SW.
what options do I have ? (remember that we are in Poland and we only have small golf shops on golf course but not sure if they are selling single clubs. Probably I could buy 55* wedge but for sure not tylormade).

EDIT: I'm playing TM Burners 1.0 i5-SW, and 60*wedge. I don't like my AW that much. SW is 55, AW 50*. I'm thinking about buying 52 and 56*, but than my next club is 45* PW (7*gap).
Next thing to consider is that I'm probably going to change my clubs after next season (probably fitting), so is it worth it?
and I'm a newbie with 25.5 HC

breaking 90 aint easy. I play 1 year longer than yours and train a lot, best round was 87 but i have a lot of 90-100s still incoming. Under 90 is still rare...
Needs time and good shortgame imo.
Always keep some stupid penalties coming back

Any serious Pro should know how to do and can fix it. Needs just a new shaft, some 2 components glue and a camping gaz cooker for removing the old shaft.. Plus you live in Poland. They say you polish guys can fix ANYTHING with just a wire good luck !

...or just get a new 56 or 54 sandwedge. The Wedges should not have some cavity like the Burner Irons have. Just go with your 5-PW burner and 2 good muscleback wedges 50 and 56 or whatever the numbers are... You will like theese Blade Wedges instantly!!! And its the club you use more often than a driver!

Have any of you guys ever tried hitting your irons on the inside like you are playing a draw? I was on a par 3 today that I don't normally hit the green and did this and my ball flight was pretty good. I tell you I am slowly but surely putting a good swing together. Next time I go to the course or range I am trying this again.

Getting in 2 more rounds this weekend; I love golfing in Toronto in November. Not a fan of frost delays, but it's good to be out.

I've heard good things about the pure ball striker. (Orange device you put on your club) Anyone have one to sell or give criticism?
