Any way can I get the special Ferrule adapters for these anywhere the stock shaft is .35 and Id like to save a bit of money and reuse it. Golfworks does a .335 ferrule but then I'd need a new shaft.
How do I get the Ferrule off the shaft ? remember there is no head to heat to weaken the epoxy. If I put it in boiling water would the Graphite shaft survive that?

An acquaintance I recently started golfing with, who used to be a scratch golfer, just absolutely blows my mind when he hits the ball.
A few weeks ago he hit a 3-wood into the speed slot in the fairway on a par 4, 330 yards, no big deal.
This past weekend he hit driver extremely offline on the first few holes so he decided to retire it for the round and just hit hybrids and irons off the tee. Third hole, par 4 420 yards; he hits a 5-iron about 250 yards then a 9-iron from about 160 out to 3 feet and makes birdie. Some people really ARE playing an entirely different game than us normal folks.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I feel like I have to do something to pick up some yardage but I don't really know what. I already have an off day (err a most day) routine: stretch and take some swings with a heavy club and some with an empty shaft. It is pretty bizarre playing Driver, 3 Wood, Wedge when your playing partner is hitting Driver, Wedge on the same hole. OTOH, it's quite amusing to me when I make Par this way and they make Double.

Anyway, there are no shortages of 500 yard Par 4s around here. I need to figure something out.

Can anyone give me advice on some ball striking techniques or drills, I literally never take a divot infront of the ball position and not really sure what the problem is. Thanks

Just recorded a little podcast interview with NxtWrldChamp. Meant to be for CR but ended up being all about golf since we're both such golfheads.

If you guys are interested in listening, I can post a link when the podcast is live on Sunday.

You might be releasing your hands too soon and striking the ball with clubface even with, or ahead of, your hands. Hands should be slightly ahead at impact. If you release your hands too soon your swing becomes "extended" and thus the face smacks the big ball (earth) before the little ball (golf ball). Clubface should be fully extended after contact (divot in front of ball).

Focus on hitting "down" on the ball and focus on getting your backside through the swing which pulls your weight forward. Not sure of any good drills. dagolfdoc should be able to help you. I just went to the range and forced myself to hit down down down on the ball until I noticed it felt more like I was pinching the ball rather than lifting it off the ground. Ever since then my skulls have gone down and when I do take a divot it is even or in front of the ball. Good luck.

Actually I just thought of a drill I used briefly when I was working on this. I set a tee on the ground about 4 inches ahead of the golf ball and perpendicular to target line and focused on hitting down and through the ball such that my club would sweep the tee away as well. A good divot will be about the size of a dollar bill so you should be able to sweep that tee out of the way. This sort of helped but I try to ditch the gimmicks ASAP so I only tried this about 10 times.

can anyone internet diagnose the difference between elbow tendonitis and a tendon tear?

I've been having a slight amount of pain in my right elbow (right handed) for a couple of months, but nothing a little stretch/warmup can't fix. It got progressively worse and every single shot, even chips out of rough hurt. I woke up the next day and it was awful. I didn't play last weekend (and am getting the golf itch). It doesn't really hurt now except if i hit it on something or I try and raise it above my head like I'm shooting a layup. (i.e. I went to play basketball thinking it was fine, and yeah...it was not...at all). It's on the very tip of my elbow and it was red and a little nubby, so no golfers/tennis elbow. Really want it to just be tendonitis b/c basically I'm playing this week no matter what.

Anyway, F me. Is this what getting old is going to be like?

I wouldn't be able to handle the press if I were a golf pro.

1 Minute of the interview: "Let's talk about yourself and your game and how you view this course"

Next 39 minutes: "So, let's talk about Tiger."

Which one?

There is the one that is actually in studio with them, Holly Saunders?, and the one that does the wall street reports (but she is part of CNBC or MSNBC or something).
