woow, the kamala hills apartments look VERY nice. exactly a resort like this I've been looking for, anyone knows something similar maybe in Karon or Kata?

last question about internet connection: at many hotels/resorts u can read about an included internet access. do u recommend an additional access or a VPN connection? (still not sure, what exactly it is.. =))
the internet access will be only need to play poker online.

anyway thanks for help

how much is the rent a month? paying more than ~20k a month per person for rent seems really stupid unless it's just super super baller and you have plenty of extra spending money.

yeah that looks really nice! the price and maybe a picture of the whole penthouse would be interesting.

@rubbrband: why do u think so? ~630$ pp seems to be quite ok for a stay like this. what would u recommend?

this place doesn't disappoint. its like a complete 180 from the dump i was staying at in manila which probably hasn't had the carpet replaced since it was built

even costs less wtk

Hey Chiang Mai, where do you like to get your food from in the middle of the night (not fast food like McDonalds or Mike's burgers)? I know a restaurant at the north side of the moat + the one on top of lucky bar, but anything else? Some place good to get take away from?

Unless you are aiming to work in Thailand, I wouldn't consider it. Even aiming to work in Thailand you are better off with an MBA from a reasonable American school.

If you head to the top of Chang Klan road, near Ratilanna hotel, The Park Hotel, Samo Bar, Orchid Karaoke etc etc, there is a soi on the same side of the road as the Park Hotel called Pa Phrao Road. Right at the top of the soi there is a big Thai restaurant that is basically open all night. It's always super busy and the food is great. I forget the name but it's only written in Thai anyway.

And directly opposite that soi but maybe 100 meters back towards the city their are a bunch of open air Thai bars in a courtyard type setting. The first bar on the left is owned by a Thai/English couple and they both cook up really tasty Thai and western dishes till around 6am. The Bar is called Citirin and it's the first one on the left that is kinda on the side of the road also.

Also if you head down Suthep Road they have a bunch of Thai places open all night, I always see people eating at them as late as 5-6am. They kinda all look like noodle soup shops though but I could be wrong. Prob worth trying them out as they look popular. Just keep driving towards the mountain and they are all lined up along the left side of the road

hope that made sense, wrote them in a rush

Thanks, albeit Chang Klan road being a bit far for me I will have to go check it out. You are right about Suthep road, I frequently visit one of the places for kau soy, but it gets boring when you don't have much diversity. I miss curry, chicken with cashew nuts etc...

On the inside of the moate, about 100m south of thapae gate(a little north of turn for loi kroh), you can get some really good noodle soup, not sure what time they finish, i've got food there about 3:30.

Hey, we are 3 people moving to phuket on april 6 for the next 4 months or so, we plan to get an hotel the first few days and look for a nice 3 bedrooms villa with swimming pool and obviously top notch internet.

Do you have any idea of how long it should take to book a villa like this? Preferably in the NaiHarn/Kata area

it will take one hour to one month depending on how picky you are

And what is the best way to book a villa? I assume there are plenty of rental agencies in Phuket, anything to recommand?

The cheapest way is to find a house by literally driving around and looking and talking directly to the owner so you avoid any commision by rental agencies.

This, however is usually not the fastest way (although you guys arriving in off-season helps), so if you wanna get setup in a nice house really fast you probably do not want to do this, so renting through an agency and/or having somebody doing the looking for you beforehand is probably your best option.

I recommend looking through siamrealestate a couple of days before you arrive and make a list of houses you like, and when you arrive just go to their office here and ask them to show you all of these.

I've got a 3 entry visa from the US that expires on the 28th of April. I've never been anywhere in Asia but I'd like to see Ankor wat before I leave Thailand.

Set up my visa run for me.
