That depends on what type of Visa you got now.

If you have a Tourist visa (60 days + 30 day extension, issued at embassies/consulates) you will lose one of your entries upon exiting the country. If it's a single entry Tourist Visa then you're done for that one. If it's a double or more entry you will get a fresh 60 days + 30 day extension visa when you get back as long as you do it within the required date.

If you don't have any of these things, don't worry cause you get a 30 day Visa when you fly into the country again.

Me and my friends are going to Phuket in February and are planning on staying there for a few weeks and then get moving. We are thinking about going to Bangkok, and then to vietnam, malaysia, singapore and maybe some other places not too far away.

My question is how much does a plane ticket cost to these places?
and is it approximately the same price in these country? living, eating and traveling that is.

Thanks

Singapore is much more expensive than Malaysia, which is more expensive than Thailand or Vietnam. Plane tickets will run you about $100 us dollars one way between any city in South East Asia

answer these and it will be much easier to help you

do you have a visa (a sticker from a thai consulate/embassy outside thailand)?
what type of visa is it? is it single or multiple entries?
what is the enter before date on the visa?

when did you last arrive in thailand? what is the permission of stay stamp's date on your visa? (a stamp put in your passport by immigration at the border when you

you can always go to immigration and get a re-entry permit. it would make sense if he actually has a tourist visa but has only been in thailand a few days on it. if he gets one he could just come back and use the remaining days from his first arrival

Ive been living in Samui for the last 2-3 months and will be here for another 5-6 weeks. Im not sure what exactly you want in a write up mods but let me know and ill happily do one, post it here and you can move it.

Also what do you guys who live here do for visas. I have a triple entry, 2 months each entry, visa that is going to run out soon. What can i do to stay in Thailand, im pretty sure i could get another VISA but i've heard you can only enter the country 4 times in one year? Is that correct? Any suggestions, can i simply pay a thai girl a few thousand baht to write me a letter saying im with her so i can stay?

Thanks in advance

go to the consulate, get a stamp...it'll add 30 days onto your 60 day thing

i dont understand how you are running out of your visa if you have a triple entry and you have been here 2 months. triple entry is good for 9 months if you know how to optimize it

also like mentioned already you can extend each of the entries for 30 more days for 1900 baht at a immigration office.

best bet is to go to lao and get a double entry tourist visa. that's the only neighbouring country that issues double atm. if you need to stay for 6 more months that is.

there is no 4 times a year rule. only 4 times rule i know regarding entries is that you can arrive by land 4 times and get the 15-day visa exempt stamp. after the 4th time you cant arrive by land without a visa anymore so dont worry about that one either

i'm pretty sure we can squeeze much more out of your visa so could you answer these questions and i will help you optimize the use of the rest of your visa (hope that is a sentence )

how many times have you entered thailand using the visa?
when was the last time? what date is on your current permission of stay stamp in your passport (the one that immigration stamps for you when you arrive)
what is the "enter before" date on your visa
when are you planning to leave thailand for a longer period?

The best thing to do from Samui is to fly with Firefly to Kuala Lumpur and get a visa there. You only get 15 days at the land border runs nowadays, but if you apply at the embassy in KL you will get a proper visa.

It's only a 90 minute flight and very comfortable, and KL isn't a bad place to spend a couple of days in any case.

I dont know about the dumpling soup and honestly im hesitant to reveal trade secrets like this one but at least 4-5 players/close friends that live in BkK will attest the ballin japanese noodle spot is the most ballin noodles in all of thailand!

Theres even a facebook group on the restaurant itself. Enjoy!

agree malaysia is better if he not looking to be here long

if he is staying over 3 months then getting a double from laos or the non-immigrant visa from perth is much better options

Hi guys,

I am arriving to Phuket on 19th of Jan and staying for 3 months. Will be coming with my gf(I know, i know, no need to comment). I am planning to book a room in a hotel and look for a place to rent in the southern part of the island. Nai harn seems like a nice place to live. Dont need anything fancy, 1 or 2 bedroom decent flat or house will do, grinding capable internet is a must. Hoping to get smth under 15k baht.

So here are the questions:
1. Nai harn seemed pretty small, are there rental options fitting the above description available there or will it make more sense to look elsewhere?
2. Is there a local paper or classifieds board or smth where you can find places for rent or do you just wander around and spot rental signs?
3. Can you recommend a place to stay for a first week or so?

Cheers!
Chief

i don't know anything about hotels in nai harn/rawai, i do know of a place that was open in October that was a nice 1 br on the sports club road in Rawai, i'm pretty sure the girl i knew there had a 6 month lease paying 12k/mo. I don't know anything about how good the internet is, but they had a central wireless router they charged for access to. i guess my info is so limited as to not really be very helpful.

I have planned a budget for living in Chiang Mai in a shared house, please point out any glaring errors, or propose anything that needs to be added to my budget:

Thailand Budget 2010, per month (in €uros)
Rent €140
Internet €20
Bar Fine €80 (4x20)
Gym €15
Tuktuks €60
Beer €200
Food €200
The odd flight around SEasia every few months €40
Phone €15
Basketball fees €15
Paintballing/Go-Karting once a month €45

Total: €830/mo

Should I add anything else? Green fee's, pool bars etc?

cheers

varies with each person but most people massively underestimate how much money they are going to spew on booze.

i'm not a heavy drinker as such but would still get through 10k baht (around 200 euros) pretty quickly.

wow i thought €200 was being generous, perhaps I will have to supplement bar drinking with a few warm ups at home how much is a bottle of 6xchang in a tesco lotus or carefour?
