M/O guys you guys,

My BIL stalled after SS a while back and is not making great brogress on 5/3/1. His most recent heavy workset is 390lbsx5 at bw ~192. M/O rec sound k for him for DL?

This is it? https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...71667212,d.cGU

Is "projected max" projected max now, or "desired 1rm at end"?

Freenbard if you vomited any of the beer in that photo you sent me I am going to have to hit you.
07-24-2014 , 10:47 AM
What's he seem to struggle on? I hit a point where my weakness in DL was that my hammies and grip weren't strong enough to keep up with what I could pull. So I worked on both, and started catching up with everything. I also switched to hook grip and that seemed to help - only used mixed grip on my heavier lifts that I couldn't hook yet.

I'd say add some accessories/change his accessories. I didn't like the DL on 5/3/1. my 1 rep weeks, I kept hitting 7 reps.

WTF is a "BIL"? Busto I'd like to....?

That's the spreadsheet. You put in the projected max now. As you can see from the latter weeks of the spreadsheet, they go above what you put in there so if you put what you'd like to be lifting in the future, you're going to fail the program pretty damn quickly.

No idea what his weaknesses are. He lifts at a local globo, I lift in a permanent crossfit log.

It seems like you are both suggesting 5/3/1 and saying you didn't like it, which was also his sentiment. K.

When you vomit, the human stomach only uses 10% of its potential.

I believe BIL is short for "BILF in law".

"BIL" is a hipster way to spell William.

Thx for answering spreadsheet q. Yeah, I didn't look past week 4 or 5 or whatever, obv. I actually didn't look at it at all bc lol PL fu etc, but on occasion I try to be helpful to others.

I don't mean to cause a stampede but the pretzel bun is back @ Wendy's

Pretzel buns/rolls are GOAT but every fast food place that does them is WOAT.
07-24-2014 , 11:11 AM
The problem with pretzel buns is that if you put salt on them, the salt will dissolve overnight and make the bun sort of soggy. Since Wendy's obviously isn't going to be making fresh pretzel rolls throughout the day, they just leave off the salt, which makes for a bland dense roll.

Does he struggle off the floor? Does he stall as he goes up? Back form? Grip? What are his accessories for deadlift?

I felt like I wasn't getting enough squat work in - that's coming off SS, and feeling like I should squat like all the time.

I also did not feel like the de-load weeks helped at all, I started skipping them, unless I was out of town/needed them.

M/O will fix all of those problems. Lots of volume at a weight that's heavy but you know you can handle will help you develop your grip, hammies, glutes, etc.

DT,

Someone else said it, but yep, actual max, not projected max. In fact, it might be smart for him to input a max slightly beneath his actual max.

You're just mad because you only use 9% of your brain

The "10% of your brain thing" is absolutely horrible. I don't understand how Hollywood execs signed off on the premise. It's so bad I wouldn't be surprised if it's intentionally misleading and not actually what the movie is about (it turns out she was a superhuman or something and the drug is a placebo and the Morgan Freeman character was just being regarded, etc).

Speaking of which, the "let's make this movie sell by injecting Morgan Freeman as the same character he plays in every other movie ever" is borderline inexcusable.

But yeah I'll probably go see it in theaters.

I believe saw was working on a complex algorithm for this and found it was simply easier to eat all the vomit and pretend it never happened.

Yeah yeah yeah. I choose to ignore that line and go with it. I did the same thing with Limitless and had a hell of a time.

Gonna see it tonight at an early showing!

it's not so much the "we only use 10% of our brain" thing that tilts me, but "when a human can use 62% of their brain they now can control space time fabric. sorry that's just how it is."

Actually had a pretzel burger the other night when I got back from traveling, wasn't half bad.

Guessing Magnusson-Ortmeyer

Just got final confirmation that I will be helping out at the Mr. Olympia down in Vegas for the Olympic Weightlifting event. Guessing I will be there Thursday-Sunday (18-21 September). Should be interesting.
