I get these pre-boiled, super cold and limp hardboiled eggs which I then pop into my mouth in between bites of cold bacon that's been sitting out for days along with who knows how I brewed it coffee while swiping left and right on Tinder."

I don't really believe the claims (fat loss, muscle gain, yada yada), but I'm gonna try it anyway to see how it tastes...

Have tried/Would not/would not.

That said, when I tried it, I had no idea what it was and my thought process was "bullet proof coffee? that sounds strong! must be a nice strong coffee!" ...and instead i got this cup of hippy bullsh*t.

Seems to be working for fredd - possible side effect of baldness?

Tried coffee + 50 grams of coconut oil last weekend, so poor man's bulletproof. Resulted in horrendous diarrhea about 4 hours after ingestion.

Be safe.

Spectated at NZ National Bench Champs yesterday. In most cases turning up got you a medal, if not a national championship, but still some impressive lifts including 255kg raw at 120kg, and a 90kg woman who benched 130kg and narrowly missed 135kg. I ended up helping out backstage with one of our women lifters who went 3/3, 5kg PR and National Championship in a contested class.

The equipped men were lifting after the women, so it was my first up close interaction with the shenanigans required to lift in gear. Absurd.

This must be why its a miracle weight loss supplement

FWIW I'm sure I'll have it again as I did like the taste and it did seem to give me a bit up a bump in energy.

I had meant to start with like 20 grams of coconut oil, but when I scooped scooped some out and dropped it in the coffee the scale said I had already done 50 grams. Didn't want to brew a new cup so I figured I'd see what happened.

Pretty sure coc oil is a scam.
09-28-2014 , 12:14 PM
We use it in a lot of our cooking and as a skin moisturizer. I think it is fine in these regards, but probably not too different than other saturated fats. I don't really buy the hype it is a miracle antibiotic and heart health drug, but it is fine for what it is.

And it tastes and smells good too IMO, but I like coconut a lot, so this is probably part of it.

I got a really cheap jar, not like the "enhanced MCT oil" from the site.

Just tried it with 1tbps cocoil and 1tbsp butter... its ok. Nothing amazing.

We'll see how my arse feels about it shortly.

I don't mean it's a scam scam. I mean it's fine. But it's just a saturated fat.
09-28-2014 , 03:14 PM
It is most certainly a small rock in the context of body composition and athletic performance, but the MCTs prevalent in coconut oil have been shown to have positive effects on HDL, while some other saturated fats do appear to have positive associations with cardiovascular diseases.

Monounsaturated vs polyunsaturated vs saturated is such an antiquated spectrum, it isn't really useful for attempting to characterize the healthfulness of fats. There are some saturated fats that appear to be really bad just like there are some that appear to be beneficial.

Wow, oh wow. Stared for like 5 seconds. Was worth the wait.

That movie is one of those epic (and by this time fairly old) bollywood movies. Trust me, it's no Kickpuncher 2.

Trying out leangains intermittent fasting. Well, 8 hours eating, 16 hours not eating. None of the rest of the leangains protocol.

Starting to get a headache but only 40 more mins to go. Just out of curiosity for those who switched over, how many days did it take to feel acclimated to the new eating schedule?

Also, how often can one cheat the system (e.g. having brunch on the weekend) and not have it be painful?

I think it was about 2 weeks before I started to have almost zero cravings in the morning, granted I wasn't a big breakfast person before hand anyway. I found the caffeine in coffee to sufficiently curb AM cravings when they popped up.

Define "painful". Also, YNDTDP.
09-29-2014 , 12:43 PM
YNDTDP wat?

I don't drink coffee so, ehhh. Today is the first day and I had to distract myself for an hour but now I don't really feel very bad. No cravings, just feel hungry and like I should have eaten. And a mild headache that has stabilized.
