Considering canceling my health insurance, paying the penalty and just going out of pocket. I'd be way better off, like ~$10k/yr which I could bank. Someone explain why that would be bad. What am I missing?

Currently paying $10k/yr in insurance, $4k deductible per person annually and 20% of total after that.

Only identifiable downside is a trauma that requires local immediate and expensive care. Cancer treatment and organ transplants I can just visit senseisingh.

What am I missing?

Pretty sure if you as much as sneeze you're out like $40k without insurance.

I seriously considered the same - but they got me plugged into the machine sitting in a cubicle 9-5 Monday thru Friday. RIP dreamz.

Sure I mean if you break your arm and want to get on a plane to Mexico to have it taken care of, then I can see the appeal.

Yes, I could technically do the same. A lot of people in my company do a lot of work from home. However, the office is only 6 miles away & I like seeing people on occasion.

The cubicle was meant to be a metaphor for being plugged into the employer provided healthcare model (thanks obama) in particular and into quasi-professional middle class working culture generally.

I hope this helps.

I guess I could get a county or state job and suck off the gubmint teet.

Heh, nope. Whether the science is correct or hokey, I strongly credit upping/monitoring my Protein intake with my weight loss. I try to take in as much as possible, but struggle to break the 150g mark at times.

I am ready for some new Protein powder to try out. I've used all the Body Fortress flavors, and just finished my first jug of Strawberry Muscle Milk. Loved the Strawberry Muscle Milk flavor and texture, but hated the price per jug locally.

Is everyone here on the ON train?

I usually just buy it for $2.75/lb off the dock.

Would be pretty exciting if it happens. Fingers crossed.
Salmon fishing was AWFUL here this year, but the Walleye fishery was spectacular.

Archery deer season opens up Wednesday. Venison jerky. Yum.

Not from here. I love closer to Vancouver BC than Tijuana.

I'm not worried about a broken arm. More like falling off a roof and breaking my neck. A broken arm would cost less than two year's premiums.

Look, the first rule of LC trolling is that you don't every admit that you were trolling. It will never work unless you stick with it.

Do you see Frau DT posting every other post about how the previous one was just him taking a piss? No you don't, b/c that guy is expert level top shelf lel troll master. I think the only time I've ever seen him apologize for a troll is while actually making an even better troll.
