cres, i dont even know what youre arguing anymore, but if you think bruce lee could have beaten even a journeyman mma fighter of today, you are way wrong. and i dont care what the rules are--even with eye-gouging and whatever else, youre still wrong.

in other news, i was going to use this rear-delt machine since my biceps tendon is ruined and i cant do normal stuff, and this disgusting ******ed woman had just gotten off of it, so i got a paper towel and some disinfectant and sprayed that **** down. as im finishing cleaning it, this ***, like 5'10 145 white 20-year-old, drops his bag next to it and moves the pin in the weight stack. and im like,
"im just gonna do one--then take it."
and hes like,
"i think you sit on it like this" and sits down. and im like,
"yeah, i know how to use it."
and he starts a set with the handles in a place that makes no sense, and so i show him how to adjust it, and then he just keeps going with his *** set with like no weight for like 60 seconds.
then he gets up and he goes,
"oh sorry man--did i cut you?" (he meant cut as in cut in line, like a second-grader or something). and im like,
"yeah, but it was so ridiculous i let you go ahead." and he goes
"sorry man--i thought you were a trainer."

wtf

saw something very odd on the smith machine yesterday. saw this dude laying on his back on one of the adjustable benches. he had his bare feet in the air, pushing up on the bar on the smith machine with weight on it... Imagine doing bench press under the smith machine, but using your disgusting bare feet to push the weight. Kind of like a reverse leg-press/smith machine squat. I was stunned.

He saw this, and went a slightly easier route.

Smith machine, *sigh*.

AB's pic is of an unsupported leg press, still contested to this day in the USAWA afaik.

see, I never stated that. There are many, many comments in this thread, and many others in the forum. Its all a matter of opinion and discussion. As for who is better, this forum has a penchant for scientific and logical reasoning. How then can a dead guy, who never acted in the same conditions, be stated with impunity that he couldn't ever win? That's as preposterous as arguing the other side.

You can have an opinion, but not create a fact to state.

Abe Lincoln could demolish any current UFC fighter. Note the word could, not should.

Lincoln was totally underrated as a fighter. There is a reason Booth crept up from behind to assassinate him.

Yeah btw guys if you didn't know, Bruce Lee vs MMA is like the most trolltastic, boring, ******ed thread in MMA forums. It's the "my aces always get cracked" of cage fighting.

This.

Let us now turn our focus to more productive scenarios. Who would win in a gladiator match?

1) 80s Tyson vs 10 top-tier fighters from the midget UFC
2) Stone Cold vs The Rock
3) E. Honda vs a half-grown velociraptor

Has the velociraptor received any combat training prior to the match?

And more importantly, is the match taking place now or 15 years ago?

Only what it's learned in the wild and its training for Jurassic Park

Present day, with 80s Tyson (and The Rock and Stone Cold in their prime) being transported via a time vortex, Terminator rules.

True, but raptors have big scary talons and could jump pretty high. E Honda would have to use that big chop move, and time it right

You are right to distinguish between opinions and facts. It is a fact that MMA has evolved so much in recent years that I would be astounded if anyone from 20+ years ago could beat the very worst fighters on a UFC roster today. From that fact, I form an opinion that Bruce Lee wouldn't be able to compete with today's MMA fighter(assuming he doesn't have time to adapt and train under modern training). Any opinion that states Bruce Lee would be able to do this isn't clearly looking at the facts or isn't aware of them imo.

Just seems odd to me to not help your fellow bro out.
There should be some kind of slogan, "Bros don't let bros quarter squat!"
the bro with the good form will only critique if 1/4 squat bro is using more weight than him.
