I usually look for the Microwave Safe or DO NOT MICROWAVE message usually on there somewhere, but that's just me
04-07-2013 , 11:51 PM
I wouldn't put any plastic in the microwave tbh.

This is some rucky-dragon-goot-plice flimsy take away plastic... I'll check for markings... but I don't think I will find.

The next question is what is more dangerous? Eating a mircowaved rucky-dragon-yumcha-goot-plice plastic container, or eating day old Chinese food from a rucky-dragon-yum-cha-goot-plice 'restaurant' cold...

I basically eat out of a microwaved plastic container every day. Am I gunna get aids?
04-07-2013 , 11:55 PM
Oh **** no way do I put some chinese takeaway styrofoam in the microwave
04-08-2013 , 12:05 AM
Nah, it's not styrofoam -it's plastic... it's more like what you wold get take-away sushi in.
04-08-2013 , 12:10 AM
Snitch,

You're gonna die on your motorbike long before you do from possible plastic poisoning from a microwave session. Go for it.
04-08-2013 , 12:12 AM
Hm, 100% of takaway here is styrofoam, so, good luck I guess

Prolly already got it

I recently stopped using teflon coated pots and pans, and plastic spatulas. I noticed the teflon always wear off, and plastic spatulas slowly disintegrate. I guess I ate it all.

I bought heavy stainless steel stuff now. I feel like it's gonna last forever.

It'll never happen to me.

'murrica. F*ck yeah. I couldn't wait any longer... so hungry. It was fine.

edit: also... has tv lied to me yet again? I have been lead to believe that all Asian fast-food is sold in those little cardboard boxes... and also all your supermarket bags are brown paper bags...

Related question... Soooooo... What's the best way to bring food to work and re-heat it if I only have a microwave? Put it on a plate?
04-08-2013 , 12:33 AM
Plastic can leach all sorts of nasty **** (including some estrogenics) into your food and drink. Probably develop bitch tits.
04-08-2013 , 12:33 AM
Paper bags? Maybe in Whole Foods. Bags here are plastic, as god designed
04-08-2013 , 12:39 AM
Probably some combo of insulated lunch bag (easy to transport, they have zippers now, and they can keep your food cold if you don't have a fridge) and some kind of pyrex tupperware type thing to actually holding the food (because it's microwave safe, reusable, sealable, and good in both hot and cold)?

relevant to GoT nerds

Plastic bags are actually >>>>> more energy efficient to produce.

The question is wtf happens to them after use.

I think I'll do this. ty

...not sure why I didn't think of that actually. Must be getting brain AIDS from eating microwaved plastic.

Also it's so much better to use. Though silicone and wood spatulas are fine.

Or not?

Yeah Snitch, switch to Pyrex containers.

Something like this is only $18 here in USA#1 and I've literally been using a similar set of those for like 5 years and they are as good as new.

I've heard about the estrogen link to microwaving plastic containers and that's a cause for concern. Dunno how serious that link is but worth avoiding for sure since pyrex stuff is the nuttttttts. I've literally dropped those containers from 5 feet onto tile and they don't even crack.

General poker room observations: Mohegan Sun room poker room is by far the most ghetto poker room I've ever been to. People discussing the action and talking about players during the hand hand (with all ins), taunting, slowrolling, string betting, sleeping at the table, the WOAT dealer who messed up 9 hands over two dealing sessions, floor manager who doesn't give a damn and joins in with the taunting, everything.

I also use plastic daily and feel pressured into switching to glass but tbh it's prob a good idea and glass is way easier to clean.
