It's a shame you can't have a guild shop thing - given that we're all relatively trustworthy (relative to a normal poe player...) - it'd be interesting if we could have a shop where all the items were from guild stash, guild members can buy for one "row" down - 1 alch, 1 chaos, 2 chaos tabs, etc, then we split the money every month. That way we could really merge all our stuff.

It looks like all you have planned so far is that you're going to be dual wielding swords. You should plan out a bit more than this, like what gems you want to use.

I don't suggest getting any of the weapon specific nodes before merciless. You want more flexibility when it comes to leveling gear.

Since you're playing a melee character, you want to have very high health and defenses from your passive tree. In your case, this means getting every health node and dual wield block that's efficient, and then armor/eva passives on top of that. Offensive passives will be low priority for you.

Just started into Act 3 Normal with my lightning Templar. At least at this point it in the game it seems to me that extra DPS matters a little, but extra survivability matters a ton. I was a bit nervous going after Vaal because I remember it killing my softcore witch, but with the extra resists/health/life regen it was a piece of cake.

Weirdest thing about my character at this point is that he's level 32 and still using a rare mace that dropped off Hillock at level 2, because it gives my lightning gem +1 level, and nothing I've found since then even remotely increases my DPS more than that.

I kept blue wands/maces until lvl 70. I just picked up all the base items with +15-20% elemental or magic dmg, and transmuted them until I got something good. Other stats at that point don't matter nearly as much.

+gem level can be an extremely effective property... if it's on a 2h. It's not worth much on a 1h.

Heh... right after I mentioned it I finally found a rare wand which upped my dps:

+11% spell damage
+ 47% spell damage
+10% physical damage
+10 intelligence
+18% critical strike chance
+19% lightning resistance
+4 accuracy rating

with connected blue sockets so I can add lightning damage to my Arc gem.

Brought my dps with arc from 106.9 to 127.1

So far this guy has 950 health with a 48% armor rating and maxed out resists at level 33 and 127 dps with his main spell.... dps is really low compared to my witch (who has 238 dps at level 37) but her survivability was just terrible in comparison. This guy is a lot easier to play.

What's a good resource for build info? I have no idea what I'm doing speccing my character. Just cleared Act I at lvl16 as a Marauder and it was pretty touch and go and I'm sure I'm missing something there.

Could be. Since I'm just starting out I'm just playing with whatever gear I find, so there are definitely some slots on each character that are hugely lacking. I have a level 20 hardcore witch (that I basically stopped playing) that was still using a white item in one of the ring slots.

Do you need character names? I haven't attempted to message anyone yet.

I have a lightning Templar in the Nemesis league named TooOldForThisSht and a witch in the standard league named OMGChickenNuggets . The templar is the one I'm spending most of my time on as the witch got toward the end of normal but was having real survivability issues already.

I leech 6.7% from both spectral and heavy strike. lvl62 now, act2 merci

2.22 aps with spectral, 3.64 with heavy, 2560 hps

life is only an issue against things like the warden so far, but I haven't run into the snakes yet

good idea trading in bloodless. not sure I understand why I would want Necromantic Aegis, I don't use minions.

don't have haste yet, but its coming soon. pretty much a no brainer since I went there for the life nodes.

working my way over to Mind Drinker next and the life nodes next to it.

after that, i'll grab whatever life, attack speed or crit chance nodes I can

oh, lol, that haste, I was thinking passive tree still.

I run haste for the attack speed. helps the leech till I get more nodes or better gloves

oh, also, I worked out my mana leech better and I can run Haste + Hatred now. drops me to 45 mana which is just barely enough to spam spectral as long as one target available to leech from

Huh. Hardcore Templar just died. Still not even sure what happened. Was playing tired and not paying too much attention, but nothing had really gotten me below 90% health in a long time, then suddenly he was summoning a bunch of skeletons and I was dead. Never even looked at my life total.

Ah well. I'll probably keep playing him on standard I guess.
