i never once asked whether or not i should play him. When i said "Considering benching AR" it was like 80% in jest and 20% revisionist history from getting ****ed over by Grossman a few years ago

edit: also, sister's team ****in sucks, so no worries. it's my 5 year old nephew's team that's whipping everybody's ass.

All,

I'm hereby giving Vintage a pass on his posts ITT. I'm pretty sure his judgment is clouded by the Grossman game he's referencing - I looked it up, it was in 2006. He had 150 yards passing, 4 picks, negative rushing yards, and 2 lost fumbles. I'm pretty sure you would get PTSD from watching that game and having your score continually drop.

Edit: also the Bears somehow won the game - and lol, I figured it was mostly horrible, horrible Grossman memories.

Vintage,
This is a very weird display on your part.

TIM TEBOW
11-18-2011 , 02:51 AM
**** tim tebow
11-18-2011 , 10:29 AM
tim tebow can eat a dick
11-18-2011 , 10:38 AM
This is a lot of reaction to a frigging Jets-Broncos game.
11-18-2011 , 10:57 AM
i used to hate tebow during his UF days but damn, how can you guys root against him?
11-18-2011 , 12:33 PM
obv theyd rather root for guys who are paying child support to 3 women, get arrested with regularity, start fights, and spend their money on cars and bling instead of hospitals.

tebow gets the haters furious

yeah, i mean it's always nice to see people like tebow do well.

i don't particularly give a crap about the stuff he does for the community but i think it's awesome how the guy manages to compete at a high level despite his physical shortcomings. it's always nice to see hard work get rewarded, kinda like when you see a 36 year old career minor leaguer make his MLB debut and strike out the side or hit a home run.

also, it looks like the BCS is going to be responsible for ONLY the NCG and the other conferences can do what they want with the big 4 bowls.
11-18-2011 , 03:21 PM
a lot of his "struggles" get a bit overblown though... i mean that commercial that says "they said i couldnt get a d-1 scholarship", the guy was a 5 star rated QB and top one coming out of florida. He has an athletic build too, its not like he overcame being 5 foot 6.

His throwing motion is terrible and slow but hes basically cam newton on the ground and s filled with WIM

Because he is a mediocre quarterback that is being overrated and always being talked about. And you have QBs like Sam Bradford, and hell, even Cam Newton that are being talked less about than Tebow. Cam Newton's numbers are far better than Tebow, and as of right now, his future is far brighter, but all anyone cares about are wins.

NFL teams are for some reason horrendous with covering QBs. He isn't Michael Vick who has good speed. The Jets should just forfeit the rest of their season for being such a slapdick team on defense.

It's pretty natural to discuss players on teams that are in playoff contention...Cam gets talked about, but when the Panthers are still at least a year away it's just not an interesting story to cover them or one of their players at length.

sam bradford really stinks and is on an awful team

cam newton is really good and gets talked about all the time, but the rest of his team is awful so its not as relevant than a division leader

lol, sam bradford sucks.that's why people don't talk about him.

Sam Bradford appears to be following a Rick Mirer trajectory. Early success, looked promising...quickly ramped down into becoming a dink-and-dunk passer that doesn't throw it more than five yards downfield most of the time.

As a Seahawk fan, I feared that the Rams had drafted someone great last year, but now I'm far less scared of Bradford. I like the Seattle QB position more than St. Louis's right now for the mere reason that we're not saddled down with a big contract for ours. We can get out of the situation at year's end pretty easily if we choose to.

rick mirer is actually an awesome comparison. read this article to see why: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/blog/?p=9017

i think he was pretty overrated last year. he had a ton of <200 yard dud games and only 19 TDs while playing in a terrible conference in a dome.

newton is averaging 330 total yards a game playing one of the leagues toughest schedules and already has 18 TDs. His usage level for a rookie is unmatched

lol at thinking the Broncos are in playoff contention.

dkgo, you are completely wrong. First, Sam Bradford had a terrible WR core last year (and still has a developing one this year) and still managed to break rookie records. You also obviously have no idea how rookies should perform if you are expecting Tom Brady numbers out of him in his first.

Second, Tim Tebow's and Sam Bradford's QB ratings are pretty much the same, but the only reason it is close is because Tebow barely throws the ball, while Bradford had to make a ton of passes causing him to have a decent amount of interceptions. Hell, Drew Brees had average to below average second and third seasons.

Pretty absurd how you are all over Tebow's dick when he has terrible numbers and then be very quick to call out Sam Bradford who hasn't had a real receivers to throw to for 2 straight years.

rookie records that are all getting shattered by Cam this year. In two games he will have more yards than bradford did last season.

i dont know where you pulled tom bradys name from

you also cant ignore tebows immense value as a runner.

First, you are factoring rushing TDs which aren't that important to the discussion. Second, the Panthers schedule isn't overly difficult and if you are looking at it from a defense perspective, Carolina has had played some really poor teams.

lol, good hyperbole. Tebow isn't that good of a runner. Teams just aren't used to covering running QBs. He isn't close the level of a Vince Young or Michael Vick. And Michael Vick can run to create passing opportunities whereas Tebow mostly runs to get yardage.
11-18-2011 , 04:12 PM
scoring TDs isnt important when evaluating a player?

bradford was THIRTY-FOURTH is passing dyar last season.

and lol at vince young. he averaged 25 yards rushing a game. tebow is averaging 70 in the games hes started. i dont see why running to "get yardage" is a bad thing. "getting yardage" is pretty damn important on offense.
