I used to run into that **** all the time in Washington too. Bunch of capricious pussies who couldn't be bothered to give proper respect to football would just be like, "Oh, I support both the Cougars and the Huskies!" Yeah, and I support you drinking cyanide and setting yourselves on fire. Pick a side FFS.

One year a few years ago UGA lost to both Kentucky and Vandy (lol I know) and at the Tech game I saw a guy with a half Kentucky-half Vandy jersey on. Thought it was pretty clever actually.

fwiw, if the packers play the falcons in the playoffs, I will have one jersey on, so at least I'm not THAT bad.

ugh UGA defense looking ****ing awful. I want to break Paul Johnson's ****ing legs.

Also I get that it's in Atlanta, but the announcers seem very homerish. "UGA is going for it on 4th and 1 b/c they're not mentally prepared for this game" and "UGA should play this game the same way an NFL team with homefield advantage locked up would" are both ridiculously loltastic quotes.

NBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Starting a little too early, IMO. Should've started in February and playoffs start at their usual time.

LKJ, what do you think of a Vick half-and-half jersey of a Falcons and Eagles jersey?
11-26-2011 , 03:00 PM
nba should have started never

I don't even know who would wear this. Falcons fans hate him and Eagles fans are questioning the whole thing too.

Sure, there are plenty of people that don't like him, but there are definitely Falcon fans who still love him. I'm guessing someone who really likes him would wear it.
11-26-2011 , 04:29 PM
you are just looking at people who cant afford a new jersey
11-26-2011 , 04:38 PM
Huh? You'd have to buy either one custom made or have both a Vick Falcons jersey and a Falcons Eagles jersey. If anything, it's probably more expensive than a regular jersey.
11-26-2011 , 04:43 PM
im saying the falcons fans you think love him are actually just wearing the only jersey they have

You know, if it weren't for this whole pesky GT/UGA thing, you bring up some good points. **** Michael Vick. I love how Arthur Blank handled that situation. MATTY ICE imo

Also, and I swear I'm not trolling, is Tevin Washington ALWAYS that awful? There's no way he played that badly against Clemson.

So you think when Vick returned to the GA dome that the additional people wearing his jersey that day only owned 1 jersey and thought it is a good idea to wear his jersey instead of no jersey at all?
11-26-2011 , 05:03 PM
i mean im not going to claim something applies to 100% of people but the majority of falcons fans hate vick

lets also just say theres some overlap in the demographics of people who support vick and people who only have one old jersey

yeah hes really bad. his decision making is awful, i dont think he makes any adjustments to what he plans to do based on silly things like the defense. hes pretty good in the open field but 80% of the itme will just plow into the defense instead of pitching or cutting back in.

it is amazing that johnson could win 8 games with a nonexistent defense and no talent on offense.

Most Falcons fans will tell Michael Vick to eat a dick. There are still some supporters though. How they sleep at night, I have no clue. Even if you look STRICTLY at football and don't judge his off-field actions at all, he ****ed them over. Chris Redman was MAYBE 25% of the player that Vick or Matt Ryan were/are. Plus, it forced the Falcons to completely change their draft strategy on a dime. The results of that are obv speculative, but it def wasn't a good thing.

There are also a lot of people that do only own 1 jersey (how many jerseys from a particular team do you own anyway?) and would rather wear that than a shirt. I mean face it, you do look 50% cooler in a jersey when at a live sporting event.

dk, is Paul Johnson's job on the line? CMR would be cannonballed out of Athens if he went 1 for his first 4 vs GT

no, hes still done well and did win the acc. People know he isnt a traditional head coach: hes an offensive coordinator with slightly increased responsibilities, and the offense has been pretty damn good for the most part with minimal talent. Get a qb that can throw at all and its close to the best in the country. They just need to find the right guy to run the defense and al groh is obviously not that guy.

Im not sold on gt/uga being hugely important for either team and wouldnt fire him based on that. lose a ton to VT or clemson and then we have a problem. If im a uga fan I wouldnt care at all about today and want to have the best shot next week, similar to two years ago when tech had clinched a spot in the acccg. I think the game would be better if it was played at the start of the year.

It's really as if LT is unaware that they let black people into the other sports leagues too.

So shocking that somebody who supports Tech is trying to downplay NATS/UGA rivalry lately. Of course it's a huge game for both teams. Most of these kids played high school ball either with or against each other. They talk **** all year long to each other, as do the fans. Just about every family gathering (in the South at least) includes at least one conversation about the previous year's game. The part of your post I bolded is just ****ing ridiculous. It's not a huge win for the program since GT wasn't ranked high and all, but any rivalry win is sweet.

To quote GT linebacker Julian Burnett: "I don't like losing to nobody, but when it's in-state, when it's your rival... We're tired of being the little brothers in the state."

I'm guessing most UGA fans would rather beat GT and lose to LSU than vice versa.
