Oh, it took me a while to realize that you meant if they were in those conferences. I was gonna say that they've done quite well against Pac-12/SEC in their cherry-picked big games.

Better question: What is Boise State's graduation rate?

How can you cheer for such a joke of a school who plays in a joke of a conference?

Depends on the variable scheduling etc. but ballpark this season Id say 6-2, 7-1, 7-1. I think they are worse than alabama, lsu, and wisconsin by a decent bit as well as stanford.

I don't think it's misleading if you replace "anyone else" with mid-major teams. Your margin of victory matters against BCS schools, especially those with even a decent reputation. Cal is a sinking ship, but of course especially with west coast teams, the nation is slow on the pick-up so they still see that as a team who was a few plays away from at least a temporary #1 overall ranking a few years back. They've got layman credibility. Yes it matters what they beat Cal by. Cal was sitting on a 3-1 record at the time, you know...an inflated one, but still. Inflated 3-1 + decent reputation = the country regards you as a good team.

This is pretty accurate imo, but they're still going to get slaughtered in w/e BCS game they end up in, and I that.

[SEC homer] idk if they could navigate an SEC schedule, so I might give them one more random loss to an Auburn/Florida. Either way, 6-2 wouldn't win a division unless they had some timely head-to-head wins. [/homer]

dkgo -- 8 point favorites away... nervous? I think y'all will be fine (as will UGA, lolvandy) but I can def sympathize with your general "ughhh our ****ing team suckssss" sentiment. You guys have (over the past ~10 yrs) done really god awful against UVA right? What's their krytonite?

Obv rooting HARD for Mississippi State vs South Carolina today. that Stephen Garcia is gone. Hoping for Steve Spurrier's visor to end up on the ground at some point.

ugh meant to edit but slow pony.

dkgo, how the **** are you guys only 8 point favorites? I just looked up some more on UVA this year and they seem ****ing terrible. overtime to beat idaho... and that game was AT UVA? lost to s.miss? It's either a reeeeeeeally juicy line [techhater] or GT is overrated [/techhater]

No, that's an insane line. UVA not only needed OT to beat Idaho, but also barely escaped IU. And the Hoosiers are AWFUL. Getting dominated at North Texas is about as bad as you can do.

I have no idea what's causing that low of a line. Virginia sucks.

GTs mo is to go up big but then let the other team back in it during garbage time. Charder thought last week was free money too but tech let off the gas when it was 21-3 or whatever. Same thing happened against state giving up two TDs in the last 30 seconds to push at -10 in a game they dominated. I hate it
10-15-2011 , 06:41 PM
Sucks but at least I was right and they can finally fire groh. Tevin is an idiot, about time to move to a smart qb instead of an athletic one in this system but I don't think there is such a player
10-15-2011 , 06:45 PM
Sorry dude, that was a rough one. Obviously pretty shocking to me given my post earlier.

Will they actually fire Groh if you win 8+ games or are you just wishing they would?

tampa bay +5.5 is the disko pick of the day for tom
10-15-2011 , 06:46 PM
Disko,
Just out of curiosity, do you place other bets or do you just load up on that system of yours?
10-15-2011 , 06:49 PM
I can kind of embrace games like the ones that WSU is about to play against Stanford. Yes we probably get crushed, and I think the 21 point spread for the game is pretty reasonable. However, it does sort of feel like a "nothing to lose" situation where we can shrug off a lopsided loss, get a moral victory if we give them a run for their money, and obviously can have an all-time great win if we somehow pull it off. That, and unlike playing at Oregon, I actually like this Stanford squad so I have no hate for the other side in this one and it isn't at all inherently frustrating to see Stanford do well.

oh i haven't bet in years lol

it's probably ******ed of me for not betting this system but i don't want to get wrapped up in that stuff again despite how +EV it is. i don't have the willpower to bet ONLY those games.

i like to keep track of these games though because it amazes me how big of a slamdunk they are year in and year out
10-15-2011 , 07:01 PM
Real free money is taking GT opponents coming off a bye. Only get three chances a year but 90% win rate.

does part of this have to do with public perception of tampa after last week?
10-15-2011 , 07:06 PM
It's just a robotic system where he takes home dogs playing on a different surface than where their opponents play their home games.
10-15-2011 , 07:06 PM
Still hilarious to me several years later.

10-15-2011 , 11:26 PM
man, all college fb teams from georgia suck.

dk, i feel ya. rough ****. i know you called it too like 2 weeks ago which is kinda sick. I was obv at least a little happy that tech lost tonight obv, but i'd much rather see you guys lose to a legit opponent than UVA. I know this is super weird for UGA people, but I do semi-kinda-sorta root for Tech when the opponent doesn't matter to me.

UGA woulda lost to UVA tonight too given how ****ing god awfully they played. VERY VERY glad we have a bye next week.

Not sure how true that could be. Virginia is no better than Vandy.
