I wish I got the appeal of SC. I get it when people blow their whole day when the latest Madden is released.

You seem to, just like many of the rest of us, understand blowing much of your day on 2p2.

The concepts aren't very far apart.

i miss the old a,b,c,d library days

the library was like the coffee house in these law school episodes of "friends".

Am I the only one who doesnt understand what you are saying?

We are all filling our free time with computer related stuff.
And unless you are getting paid to post on 2+2, you are not really doing anything productive (just like people playing SC).

I still imagine that you "get" the appeal of sitting in front of a screen that contains something that entertains you. Even if being at the computer as often as you are is out of necessity, you choose to pass a lot of the time at your computer on 2p2 because it's obviously something that you enjoy.

And as you are a sports bettor, it's hard for me to imagine that you only sit and watch a game if you've got money on the line. I suppose I could be wrong, but I have to think that you only ever got into that because you enjoyed watching sports to begin with.

Let me explain it simpler. I need to be at a computer to do other stuff that is productive. Between that I have small amounts of dead time which I could use to play mindsweeper / solitaire or post here. Just basically anything to fill in 2-5 minutes every 30-45 minutes. That is very different than wasting hours playing a stupid game.

You can make a valid argument for "people shouldn't waste so much time doing this activity."

It's still really difficult to take "I don't get the appeal of choosing to spend time doing it" as a sincere statement.

I think saying I don't get the appeal of something is more valid than saying people shouldn't do something. I don't get the appeal of video games but what people should or shouldn't do is their business. That being said I have a theory that the reason guys suck so bad at getting laid is because they spend too much time with video games and related activities so as a way to improve success with women I'd suggest spending the time used to play games / watch tv / do nothing productive online otherwise -- specifically doing something social or something that will increase your value to girls.

I mean often, they dont even give me a chance thinking (i guess) "wtf ! this 16 y/o really try to "get me" "
They don't give me credit, I almost everytime start as an underdog : /

thank you
How do you dress? I think every guy hits a point when they are like 19-22 where they are like "wow, I dress like ****" and changes pretty dramatically. this may be less true for people that play lots of internet poker, but I think it has a pretty direct correlation with approaching women. I know it sounds shallow, but girls tend to know within like 10 seconds if they are interested in you, so looking sharp is pretty important imo

Yeah, I came to this conclusion the other day. I mean, I don't dress horribly, but it's far from looking sharp. Being in a ltr made me pretty complacent on that front.

Also, if by look like a 15/16 year old, you mean skinny and small. Then just start eating more, and lifting weights. Preferably heavy ass ones.

Read that.

Ya, I've been slowly upgrading my wardrobe for the past 3 years or so. No Romo or anything, but it's a pretty necessary upgrade to distinguish yourself from being a 17-19 year old.

I agree with the getting laid part.

I dont spend a million hours a day playing video games, but if I got an hour or so to fill, I play some video games or talk to people online or browse the internet, just like you do with your 5 minutes free time. Like everything, if you are doing it excessively, it hinders you.

I am probably derailing and not even really replying to anything posted here.

In the exact same possition... The **** I used to wear around school 2 years ago! And I would wonder why no birds were keen...

i dress in a "standard" way I think : not too classy but i don't wear sport clothes all day long. i wear almost everytime jeans, with basic shirts, I mean like most of men of my age.
honestly, I think my clothes are pretty fine.
i'm a bit skinny and short, not too much and i do play sports pretty often so i'm an okay sharp I guess ..

1) Ask a female friend of yours about how you dress.

2) If you do, and the above is true, it's probably just a problem of sample size. Just keep putting it out there.

The way you talk may have been the real issue.

I'm in the process of changing my wardrobe as well. Turns out wearing only t-shirts everywhere isn't the optimal choice of clothes.

I hate 'smart' clothes though for some arbitrary reason that I haven't quite figured out. I now wear unbuttoned shirts over t-shirts if I'm going out. Still managed to avoid having any polo-shirts at all. The few polo shirts that I wouldn't mind to wear are all douchey makes.

If anyone has any recommendations for clothes/shoes for going out in I'd like to know

I thank you for your concern, but I've got talking covered

I ****ing hate that episode. Except for when Brian/Stewie smash up the record like the scene in Office Space.

as long as you can avoid looking like a hipster, i have found college girls partial to the jeans-designer tee-jacket combo.

edit also just jeans and a completely plain white shirt for some reason
08-06-2010 , 01:28 PM
you mean oversized jeans + hoodie isn't the new hotness?

ive found most success when i wear a blazer w/ nice jeans and a dressy t-shirt
