I copied the definition word for word, I’m not responsible for errors, if any.* And I was completely sober when I posted. Unfortunately.

* John Cole can flesh out any errors!

GF and I were in the LV Arts District looking at vintage shops for the new place. ...found the absolute perfect dining table and chairs for our 70s era house. But it's $6K. So I'm taking donations now. $500 increments. Feel free to Venmo me. I'm expecting to at least get half of the $6k from you bastards, so step the eff up.

Anyone who chips in $500 will get a permanent name plate on one of the chairs, and a lifetime reservation in that seat any time you are in Vegas.

hey schlitzy. got a question in your department.

my outside sprinklers i use galvanized pipes and fittings. which is best for long lasting, teflon tape, or the white, or yellow goop for a never seize but water tight connection.. after many years its real tough to take apart to change things out. most times ive been using the tape as it seems to be some still there but the goop looks gone.
two large pipe wrenches is tough to get them to turn even with a breaker pipe bar.

right yep.. mother nature will act upon the union of male and female threads and make it difficult to disassemble

they make what are called 'pack joint' fittings, if you can't salvage the threads, male and female

so does it make a difference which i use.

both are friction reducers. there might be some brand of that goop (pipe joint compound) that advertises some sealant property, but if you research it, the threads themselves are responsible for the watertight connection. teflon tape and the goop compound (which has teflon in it) just facilitate the merger of the male and female threads.

get a tripod vice and pipe stand, and try to tighten a fitting onto a pipe with and without teflon, you'll see the difference, unless the threads are cut too deep with the die, then you can hand-tighten them way too far.

should be 3 or 3.5 rotations by hand
