peaceful protests =\= riots
the riots typically start when the police start them. i’ve been there multiple nights and seen it for myself. the first amendment is first for a reason

guys...

if you weren't physically witnessing the protests / riots, you really have no clue what you are talking about. It's not as simple as the media and blue checkmarks tell you.

The media has an obvious agenda. The blue checkmarks earned that badge because they make a lot of money for a lot of people. They don't have your interest, or the truth, in mind. For them, being "with them" is just a way to build brownie points and follower counts.

Also, Facebook / Instagram and Twitter both block hashtags and images so you can't find them.

Why?

Facebook has the best facial recognition software on the planet. They also have the largest friend graph on earth. For some reason, these kids missed the point of 1984 and didn't listen to anything Snowden said at all.

(this in no way means I approve of vans picking up people off the street, but the above is why this is possible)

come on, maaaaaann. not to go full politard, because I'm trying to leave that most-joyless exercise alone, but previous riots in our country's history were not started by cops, why is this go-'round any different. The guys in Cali that f*ckin' heisted 40 high-end sports cars from some dealership wasn't reaction to a police presence, moran. Believe you me, the left is doing itself zero favor cheerleading this behavior. And you can parse your words and interpret the behavior as you wish. Many more Americans see it for what it is. not interested in hearing that this is all communication from the voiceless.

the cops straight-up retreated from the rioters during the 1992 iteration.

there's a most terrifying documentary by nat geo on the L.A. Riots

I suppose a brief foray into politics now and again won't hurt--much.

redeye is an extremely mature adult. ray ray and I are not. so simply by allowing us to have our opinions and the last word, redeye knows how to squash this micro-beef and wats important in life

micro-beef has been coined and has dual meaning - the 2nd of which I intend to interject inappropriately into random convos

who wat wat?

I might not vote. I'm officially jaded on large-scale collective action for the good

I did my part to improve the world today. Did a kickass, fun job today at a 13 story apartment building. Had to shut the water off and tear into a sheetrock wall in a 2nd floor hallway opposite the elevators to repair a pin hole in a 2" x 1.5" x .75" copper tee fitting conducting hot water. Little black boy of prolly 2 years, was holding his Mom's hand 2-doors-down as she was keying the lock. He was wide-eyed and looking at me and all the excitement. I said, "Hey buddy, you wanna be a plumber when you grow up? It's fun!"

A foray is by definition brief.

I have been briefed, soldier. I am max-attentive to the situation.

I can’t find the “life hacks “ thread so I will post this here.
Some shops are now refusing cash payments. Cash is defined as “Legal tender”
The seller can refuse to accept the cash, but the fact that you have offered to pay for the item using legal tender discharges the debt and you can just walk out with the goods.
If anyone has the guts to try this please report back. I would suggest not trying this in a country where shopkeepers carry guns.

Thanks, Charlie, but I think of it as an tentative move, which could be brief or sustained. I agree, though, you are correct using the primary definition.
