Who's left of the Classic Vegas days? Wayne Newton?

They really put on a helluva show back in the day. I got to shoot S&R at their home with the tigers about 20 years ago for a Las Vegas tourism promo...they were both so nice and willing to do anything we wanted to try. We had two hours to shoot what we needed and they let us work for 4 hours...giving us ideas and laughing and having fun.

Sylvain Sylvain of the New York Dolls died January 13th at the age of 69. Now the only member left alive is front man David Johansen (aka Buster Poindexter in a later part of his career).

Sylvain wasn't one of the most flamboyant of the group, but he made some fine contributions to the group, including co-writing some of the songs, including the one here.

Yes he was a convicted murderer and a very unpleasant person, but he was also one of the most influential people in the last fifty years of pop music. The current title refers to a game show host.

A predator if there ever was one.

Hated by all who ever knew him.

He was banned from the music industry for decades, for good reasons.

He should have been jailed 5 decades ago.

I think that there are a couple of problems with this thread that need to be addressed.

The use of RIP in the title suggests that we should think of whoever has died is worth wishing well of.

The inclusion of names in the title and the fact that this persists over more than one death until someone decides to change it introduces a large element of personal preference.

My suggestion is that the thread should be renamed Death of a celebrity.

Phil Spector may be notorious, but he is not a celebrity. Celebrities are persons whose lives we celebrate. Early on in this thread, Spector would have been struck from the list.
