Are you okay with raw denim? Are you big as in tall, or in the waist, or thighs, or muscular? I can't recommend Somet jeans enough, but they are over $300. The 003 model is their slim straight cut which is a non-skinny jean but isn't baggy either. If you don't want raw denim, you have fewer options from the really kickass brands, but Kicking Mule does have some washed versions that are great.

my size is 38 waist 32 length. my thighs are pretty muscular but never find jeans that slim on the way down so they look baggy at the calf and ankle area. never worn raw denim before, didnt even know there a difference like that.

38 waist = don't bother with raw denim

You can try something like Levis 501 shrink to fit, but that's about it.

You could always have a tailor taper your jeans so they are slimmer on the calf. Make sure it's a good tailor though.

ah, come on now. APC rescue or Samurai s5000 would both work, and probably tons of other straight legged jobs too. you're pushing the limit tho

Raw denim is overkill for me, though APC is the usual go-to recommendation.

For inexpensive jeans, the Levis 501 / 514 (slimmer) are usually the recommendation.

Currently my go-to pair of jeans is actually a pair of Lucky Slim 221's. It's kind of an older brand name that's not so popular anymore, but they fit great. I've actually been complimented on them at least 4 or 5 times, so apparently they do the job. $50.

Raw denim seems like too much fuss for me. I recently bought bonobos jeans, they seem like good quality, probably slotting in between standard Levis and APC.

Thoughts on this jumper?

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I'm thinking to wear it with some fitted black jeans and desert boots. It will be worn in a trendy part of west end of london.

I think Americans need to worry less about mad stacks and selvedge lines and more about not being so corpulent. Does anyone have pictures of someone big wearing raw denim where it doesn't look like ****?

This. I am 6'5" and 225 pounds. Even when I was running more and super lean at 210 pounds I still had a 36" waist.

Try a traveling tailor. The quality, selection of fabric, fit of shirt, and control over design is great. I generally get $90 shirts made as needed.

Process = tailor travels, you meet in a hotel room, get measured, a couple of photos of your upper boddy are taken. Choose collar types (button down/versus not, spread, club, etc etc)

Shirts are cut in asia. Your shirts are made in 4-6 weeks.

There's a reason why few companies make anything bigger than a size 36, and that's because the demand for it is so tiny. If you're just naturally big, that sucks but it's par for the course because fashiony **** is a smaller man's game. If you're just fat, then go lose some weight and stop trying to outfashion your fat.

I know nothing about shoes except my $60 Nikes are very uncomfortable and I get made fun of all the time for wearing them.

I like these by Ferragamo

Ferragamo has them for $800 marked down to $500 and my local outlet has them for $3xx.

I'd like a pair of shoes that I can wear every day, are super comfortable, and will last me an eternity since shoes don't interest me. Is Ferragamo that sort of brand or are they style >>>> quality.

What do people think of these shoes in general? Or rather: I would love to hear your opinions on shoes.

You don't want to wear nice shoes every day because they should be rotated (good leather shoes need time to air out). Most nice shoes aren't that comfortable because they've got leather soles without much padding. If you want shoes that will last you a while, you'll want to make sure they can be resoled and are made of good leather.

I wouldn't make a chelsea boot my everyday shoe, but that's because I'm not wearing dressy denim, suits, or trousers every day.

Of the Ferragamo shoes, only the Tramezza line is supposed to be good where the rest are overpriced.

If I were trying to pick an everyday shoe that wasn't a sneaker, I'd make it a casual brown boot. Otherwise, I'll stick with either white low-top sneakers or black high-top sneakers. I like Common Projects. I sadly own something like 7 pairs.

Edit: re: 1000 mile, brown. Always.

I've got the tan (addison) boot and I think it looks great. I put some sno seal on it and originally I was a little upset that it darkened the original color, but now the darker richer tan color has really grown on me.
