scrolls, plastic hangers are fine for polos and oxfords/non-iron shirts, for your better dress shirts get wood hangers

Wire are the worst, don't use them

For wood hangers:

http://www.hangerproject.com/ I think is the place if price isn't an object.
Wooden Hangers Direct are supposed to be pretty good and are much cheaper, but they only sell in bulk.

Not sure where you can get good ones in reasonable quantities at a reasonable price.

thanks ill check out those wood hangers. i do hang polos and non-iron shirts on those plastic hangers i posted above and they still get those bumps though, so idk what the problem is.

scrolls where are the bumps? at the shoulder I assume? Hm how long are you leaving them hanging, are they wet or something when you do. Seems odd.

Ikea has wood hangers

that must be the problem, i dry all my shirts ~10 minutes then put them on hangers to finish drying, so they're definitely damp. but yes, bumps are just inside the shoulder.

scrolls, for boots:

ADIDAS x RANSOM collection
TIMBERLAND ABINGTON collection

go here
http://www.highsnobiety.com/
and type "ransom" in the search field.

to view the abington collection:
https://www.hanon-shop.com/abington-by-timberland/

these boots are not made for hiking in deep snow for hours, but if it snows in the city etc they are perfect.
the gore tex models from timberland are much better than the adidas ransom boots of course.

For a work boot I like Red Wing, in particular the Iron Rangers.

I might be biased since they are a local company though. That particular style might not be the best on ice, though, as I think the bottoms are pretty flat. I think they look really nice and everything I've read says they really hold up well.

anything with a smooth sole is really, really bad on ice. I had a pair of boots w/ smooth rubber soles once - which I bought specifically for winter - which ended up being unusable in winter. twice I nearly cracked my skull.

they were pretty sweet for curling though

He refused to give me a refund. We argued for a bit, he insisted there was nothing wrong, and that he could add a heel to it. I insulted his competency and he got butthurt. I came back when the shoes were ready and apologized for insulting him. Above are the resulting shoes, fixed. Opinions?

Are those two horizontal glossy lines really that visible? If they are, that's pretty bad imo. Also, what kind of heel was on there to begin with?
EDF Fashion (and Fashion Deals) Thread Quote

Yes those are quite visible. Don't know about the type of heel, it was some rubber sole that was falling apart.

Alright so new shoe time. I'll be wearing these to work every day as a pilot for a tourism air operation in New Zealand. So I'll be walking on grass, gravel, tarmac, pushing planes around, and I'd like to look professional but have shoes that can grip wet grass. Uniform is black slacks with a white short sleeve shirt with epaulettes.

These are the shoes I'm considering:
http://www.florsheim.com/shop/style/13115.html
http://www.florsheim.com/shop/style/17080.html

I'd like to go shopping within half an hour, so any quick opinions would be great. My thoughts: the rounded toe shoe "Noble" looks like something a cop would wear. The other one looks more stylish while still looking professional, and the rubber sole would last while working.

edit: my sister suggests this one: http://www.florsheim.com/shop/style/13136.html she likes the seam across the toe.

Retail is $200ish and they were just about new. I don't really wear them anymore, it's so hot here that anything they go with is just too uncomfortable to wear.
Are brogues casual shoes?

All of those look nice for a pilot uniform. As for which one you pick, just personal preference. I'd highly suggest checking out Ecco shoes if there's one close to you. I bought a pair couple years back when I needed something moderately dressy(business casual), but would be on my feet for 8 hours/day at a trade show.
