would someone be kind enough to send me the Giuseppe Ottiviani remix of I Don't Deserve You by Paul van Dyk. I'm unbelievably tilted at not being able to find it as there's territory restrictions in the Uk for some stupid reason so i can't buy it

Thought this was pretty insightful from a 3LAU interview.

On vocals in house tracks:

"People need a sense of familiarity when they're listening - when they are hearing all of these synthesized sounds that are unfamiliar they may not identify with the music as much as if there was a voice. A voice adds a human touch to everything and for people who are newer to house music, vocals act as a bridge.

In my future releases I am going to include vocals 100% of the time because I think it is essential to bring out the feeling of the track. A lot of producers will argue that it can take away from a track and there are certainly good examples of that… but in a vacuum I think vocals add so much and that is the general direction I see things heading in."

Basically hes saying that you need vocals to become commercially successful... I won't disagree with that, but I can appreciate both vocal and instrumental tracks. Tracks with vocals have over 10x reach to a mainstream audience - ministry of sound often takes big room house tracks and throws a vocal over them (i.e. Calling (Lose My Mind), Spaceman, etc). The majority of people at a DJ show will just have more fun singing along to a track they know than just dancing to unfamiliar material (your mileage may vary depending on alcohol / drugs).

Prog-house DJs in Vegas.... Where do you think I'm going to find those types of clubs down there?

You all know how bad my music tastes are when it comes to the world of music. What good cheese club is out there?

Looks like you'd be pretty hard pressed to go wrong with Marquee. Here is a link to their event schedule.

When are you heading there? Every Friday & Saturday night event for January should be pretty enjoyable for you.

Drove down to Circus Afterhours in Montreal with a few friends to see Basil O'Glue/Leon Bolier/Orjan.It was the best event I've ever been to considering the music, crowd and general atmosphere of the club. It was a real madhouse in there but everyone was friendly.

I'm starting to move away from progressive trance into the darker stuff. KhoMha's stuff kills at shows.

For those interested, Afterhours.FM live broadcasted it, so you can find the sets if the mood strikes. I recommend it.

Yeah KhoMha is awesome. I'd love to see Bolier/Nilsen together.

Just bought my tickets for Bal En Blanc in Montreal over the Easter weekend, the line up looks pretty decent:

Armin van Buuren
Markus Schulz B2B Ferry Corsten
W&W
Andrew Rayel

I am not a big Rayel fan and I think W&W have gone south quite a bit in the last year but I am a loyal Armin fan, and Markus has never let me down.
