there is no "reason" that crossnerd got unbanned in the sense of like some long deliberation. There was

a) an idea that people who want to post should be able to post unless there's a really good reason not to want them to post, not just in the past but now

b) a feeling that there wasn't really that great of a reason in the present re: crossnerd

then there was some modchat trolling and **** happened

Yes it should. Fairness has no place in the proceedings. A poster is either a net positive to the site, a net neutral, or a net negative. The last group can GTFO, without any regard to due process. The fewer supporters you have, the more likely you should be banned, and the more likely you should remain banned.

Not that I understand desperately wanting to rejoin a community that doesn't want you there anyway. Sounds like about the worst way a person could spend their time.

So causing a ****ty environment for a majority of the population isn't a good enough reason to not want them to post.

in all the recent games i've played with diceman he's been fine. never broken any games (obv) but also plays hard in any role and is more of a net positive in games i've played than some other players on this site whom nobody is even talking about.
