pass out 9 cards, 7 red (1 ace for the seer) 2 black (wolves).
you basically need 1 extra person to do all the actions. everyone puts their head down or covers their eyes, and i say the exact same thing every time: "very quietly (cause we're all listening), wolves pick your heads up and identify yourselves", then "seer, very quietly pick your head up and make your peak, _____ will tell you whether they are wolf or villa".
the one person keeps track of wolves and whatnot. then the second night, same thing only "wolves quietly pick your heads up and make your night kill", "seer make your peak" etc.
sometimes it's hard for the wolves to adequately collaborate on who to NK because we're all in a circle and it's hard not to make noise when you're doing it. usually there's 1 mostly experienced wolf who will just point at who they want to kill and the other will nod.
we did have one peeker. he got caught twice trying to peek at who the wolves are when he was supposed to be asleep. after the second time i told him he couldn't play, but he could sit on the computers or whatever until the parents came at 430.
he went out and told him mom (LOL) and she called the school the next day asking about it, i told her he peeked. she asked if he was going to be allowed to come back because he really enjoys it and she thought it was good socialization for him (he's got a touch of asperger's, not toooo bad though) and i talked to him and he's been fine since.
they definitely have picked up on listening when the wolves ID themselves/make NK's. soon as i call day 3 or 4 will start yelling 'I HEARD SOMETHING OVER THERE! DRE'S THE WOLF, DRE'S THE WOLFFFF' hahahaha.
extremely good times. for like a month there we were having like 17 stay every friday. buying chips and pop got expensive but that was just about the most fun thing i'd be doing on a friday at 330pm anyway...
the original 9 or 10 that started playing, they got to be pretty damn good. like understanding the mechanics a bit good. then they got a little bored with it and the younger kids started coming (because the 'cool kids' were doing it) and they don't really talk. used to drive me nuts, how the hell am i supposed to figure out who you are if you literally won't speak until it's time to vote? it's good for them for sure, but i'm here to play WW!
i could probably tell stories about playing after school forever. like i said, good times.
