Given that the play failed, a punt was definitely correct there

WAT? Everything in your first paragraph you should have already known "in real time". After they went for it, did you just realize "oh yeah Kaep keeps fumbling and they keep run, run, running for 3 yards then punting" ???

Nah, the only 2 people who opined prior to the ball being snapped both said they would punt. Good try though.

i think the whole 99% loss if you fail tilts the decision to punt

if they were at their own 25-30 its a ldo go for it, but at their 11 not so much

i was surprised they didn't punt, obv our punt returners and offense are the biggest weakness. even though Kaep is a super hero

i mean even running 3 times is a 1st down a decent %. they faced 3rd and 4 last possession.

you guys are acting like getting ball back with enough time is like 100% and the 4th and 2 conversion is ~20%.

keep in mind lee has a sick boot and even if Pats for a 3 and out they're just going to aids position again. with no TOs and not much time.

If they punt the Pats are still very likely to lose the game imo. Given that it's 4th-and-1 and Tom Brady is the QB, I'd be surprised if the math said it's all that close.
