Wow, Thought it might have been some sort of bad joke when I heard about this. Eubank is a complete joke. People were spot on when they said he was doing this for publicity.

feel like there's sooo much value just waiting to be created if the alphabet organisations & major promoters can figure out how to stop chasing $1 today when they can get $10 tomorrow. obv tough with so many people involved but **** they've had decades to get their act together and its getting worse

It's worth noting the fight is sanctioned by the IBF so there's a fight day check weight. GGG won't be able to balloon up overnight.

Brook walks around 2-3 weight divisions higher fwiw, he shouldn't even be at welter really.

Consty,

Thats all well and good but he has fought his whole career at Welter, he has got hit solely by Welterweights. When he first feels the power of GGG he's gonna think to himself, oh ****, my 0 is about to go. The only way he can win this fight is on points cause I don't for a second think he has the power to KO GGG but then he has no shot to win on points because GGG is going to keep walking through every shot he throws and unload his own. I make Brook a huge underdog but at least he isn't fighting another bum!!

Major payday for him as well. Huge lol @ the Eubanks team if what Hearn said was true. Doubling ticket prices, organising undercard, picking commentators..........amazing. And it 100% sounds like something Snr would do.

Edit*

Bet365 have it

Brook 9/2
GGG 1/7

GGG doesn't balloon up though, he'll easily make the 170lbs or whatever he needs to day of.

I understand Brook is clearly bigger than Khan, so is Shawn Porter, but they're going to be less effective at the higher weight classes. They have medium to good power for top 10 fighters at 147, but they will likely be at below avg power at 160lbs.

GGG should start to think about fighting at 154lbs though. Lots of names to fight there and he should be able to hit that weight without a ton of effort. 160lbs is a joke, 168 doesn't look much better and he'd be pretty undersized up there.

A heads up that Kovalev v Chilemba is on at 5:30pm in the UK tonight. I think there's just the one fight on before the main event as well.

Looks like HBO (or anyone else on the U.S.) isn't televising the Kovalev fight. Lame.

Edit: HBO is showing it at 10 pm EST on tape delay. Better then nothing I guess.

Magomed Kurbanov looks like a really solid JMW prospect. Hell of a fight, albeit a short one.

Should be about as long as the Kovalev fight will be.

Russian fans love a spectacle just as much as American boxing fans.

Chilemba comes out to nothing. Kovalev is introduced to some video in Russian with English subtitles.

It's the Germans that rule that area!

Nice Monday morning LHW boxing.... lol.

These have to be the longest ring introductions I've ever seen. It's been 20 minutes combined so far and only one fighter is in the ring. I thought American football fans were the only ones enamored by the pomp surrounding sporting events. The introductory videos, light shows, and classical music composition preceding Sergey Kovalev makes me think otherwise.

I'll be surprised if the fight goes beyond 3 rounds. Chilemba doesn't have the power to do anything to Kovalev.

Chilemba already with minor swelling developing around his left eye

Chilemba spending a bit too much time on the ropes and isn't throwing enough back, I think Kovalev is really going to grind him down with the chance to knock him out at any time.

He's a bit tricky to punch, but he's focusing so much on defense too. Lots of energy being spent in two rounds for Chilemba.

Well color me surprised. Chilemba was winning that round until Kovalev started teeing off a bit at the end. Seems that he's heating up now.

Shutout in favor of Kovalev.

I can't see Kovalev losing to this style very often. Even though Ward is superior to Chilemba and Hopkins, I don't think he'll be able to frequently win rounds.

Kovalev's "weakness" seems to be against guys that can push him back, he kind of jumps backwards off balance at times. Who is going to fight him that way though?

Lol just as I post that Chilemba totally owns him, stays off the ropes, sticks jabs... he dominated that round.

I thought Kovalev had round 3 though, those body shots were solid and the power jabs were effective.

Chilemba won that round.

Kovalev seems too one-dimensional. Ward is more of an outboxer and a far better counterpuncher than Chilemba which will neutralize him.

Better from Kovalev there. He needs more of those power rights to the body, such a nasty punch.

Fifth was close but I don't think Chilemba landed cleanly enough often enough. In a close round, the fighter moving forward is gonna get the nod 9 times out of 10.

4-1 Kovalev

Chilemba is serious. Man, who saw this coming? Ward is gonna make Kovalev look bad if this is the best he's got.

4-2 Kovalev
