If Chip wanted to leave the NFL, it should be to Southern Cal right?

Miami has the recruiting base, but no facilities or fans. Maryland has Underarmor money, but no recruiting base. South Carolina has a brutal schedule.

I could see Schiano going to Miami for real though.

Gotta assume MIKE London will be canned at Virginia. If Beamer retires, you have the somewhat interesting scenario of Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Maryland all needing head coaches.

All those MAC coaches must be close to blowing a gasket; stop scheduling SEC teams, win 9 games, get huge contract in lolACC.

Rumors already swirling that Houston coach is being interviewed by Miami.

In a completely unrelated event, Houston is 7-0 with none of their opponents having a winning record.

Sapp or Winslow better options imo

I would snap hire Ed Reed as a DB coach. But you generally can't go from no coaching experience to head coach.

Herman would be a great hire for The U.

Becoming more and more convinced by the week that Herman was primarily responsible for OSU's title run last year, although them hanging half a hundred on Rutgers has cast a sliver of doubt on that.

I'm pretty sure Herman is good, but I feel like people are remembering a very hot three game stretch for OSU a lot more than they're remembering most of the last season.

Herman shouldn't take the gig at Miami, they're talent rick, but cash poor and somebody with his profile can get a much better job.

No, the reason there was a Tim Beckman 1.0 is because of Matt Campbell.

They averaged around 45 points and over 500 yards per game last year. They really only struggled once offensively all season after playing VT in their second game.

CSB. My brother in law attended a coaching gathering this Summer that Malzahn put on at Auburn. It was a mix of high school and college offensive gurus from around the country. I have never heard him rave about a coach as much as he did about Herman after the meeting. He said in a room full of some of the top offensive guys in the country, he was the guru.

You are right on the money about the success they had at OSU. Meyer's power spread had been solved and Herman meshed some of Meyer's concepts with a zone read base and added some of Chip Kelley's stuff. Then in the playoff he added a lot of the Patriots 2 TE stuff and added it to the spread which no one had ever seen before and no one could defend it.
