I can understand how the athlete can delude themselves. I'm 47, I've played sports all my life and I don't feel slower or weaker than I used to be. I obviously am but in my head I feel the same so I have no problem understanding how Chuck (or any other washed up pro) can't see how they have lost it.

What I don't get is what the **** are his friends/relatives/trainers/agent doing? Those people can see how terrible he is and know that he is going to get smashed. Why the hell aren't any of those people SAYING something to Chuck to stop this nonsense.

For god's sake people thought he released training videos of him looking terrible as a strategy to fool Tito because he was just sandbagging in those videos. Now we know that wasn't true, he actually was that awful. Lots of people close to Chuck knew he was that bad off before the fight and let it happen, that just baffles me.

Chuck probably has his fair of leeches surrounding him. Clearly he needs the money and they need it as well to keep leeching off him.

I think Chuck is more than a guy in his 40's. He took many brutal knockouts during the end of his career and is showing the wear and tear of traumatic brain injury. Chuck had a very strong body and nervous system and the years of punishment have taken their tole.

I don’t feel sorry for him. I’d get my ass kicked for a few hundred gs

I believe Chuck's original trainer (John Hackelman) refused to train him for this fight and he had new trainers.

Jfc Benevides had to beat that guy twice cos the ref stinks again.

Ref stepped in to stop the fight, put hands on JB then changed his mind - JB stopped battering the guy when Yves stepped in - had to stop the guy again.

Refs are rotten.

It was a tough spot for Yves. He thought the Perez was out and right when he went in to stop it Perez starts making a move because he wasn't out. Either way, I've seen way worse.

I've seen worse, Yves was still terrible.

Find myself thinking this about refs more and more. So many **** ups.

How will Kareem Hunt fare? He clearly needs to work on his kicking.

So pumped there was no issue with weigh ins for tomorrow night. Max vs Ortega is such a good fight. Funnily enough the guy they had as stand by for that fight missed weight.

Max vs Ortega will be awesome, hopefully Max has no lingering health issues. Joanna is going to put a beating on Valentina.

I refuse to believe that Brian "T-city" Ortega is the baddest dude on the planet at 145.

Well, you better believe it soon because win or lose Max Holloway is moving to 155lbs.

I watched boxing tonight. How was the Joanna decision? Bummed to see her lose again.

Not that it was ever a question but Max is the real deal.

JJ didn't have much for her. Valentina is too strong and too skilled. Not a particularly exciting fight -- fizzled out in the championship rounds because both were tired. 49-46 x3 UD iirc.

Pretty fun card overall.

Max is the featherweight GOAT. Ortega was very game but oh man max is on another level

What a war, it's not time for Max to move up as he has so much more interesting matchups for him. Max vs Edgar is very interesting, Max vs Mendes as well & let's not forget about Zabit & Yair. Ortega should've pulled guard & not just stand & bang, that type of performance will take years off his fighting career.
